Varric

"I'd hate to see her hurt too," Varric says in a very careful voice. "I'd take it rather poorly in fact."

GamesMaster

"I'm sure you would," she agrees. She gives another pause, as if deep in thought, though in truth she already knows what she wishes to say: "Sometimes, I fear there is something wrong with Golden Shores. Something more than it seems. But, forgive me, I'm sure that's none of your concern at the moment."

Varric

"Correct." Well, that's blunt.

GamesMaster

"Might I ask for an introduction to your apprentice before I depart?"

Varric

"You can ask," Varric says instantly, the response natural to him. "But I need to ask her if she wants to talk to you. She's just about as fond of you lot as I am."

GamesMaster

"Of course. If she doesn't wish to speak to me, I'll not pry."

Varric

Varric studies her for a long moment, then nods. "Let's take this tea out to the back porch and I'll go speak with her, see if she's willing to join you."

GamesMaster

Bright Margaret stands, picking up her teacup. "Alright. Thank you. I know my visit was unexpected."

Varric

"It was," Varric agrees, though his tone is more or less polite, as he rises to his feet to seek out Emma.

Marian Hawke

Emma's nowhere to be seen when he comes into the library at first; she's hiding atop a bookshelf in the shadows in the far side of the room, watching with her bow at the ready. "Hey," she says quietly, putting up her arrow.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Good," he praises her warmly, eyes flicking to the bow. "How you doing today?"

Marian Hawke

"Twitchy. Something's in the air and I don't like it."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Well, part of it is that you know there's a stranger here in the house," Varric points out gently. Her being a cleric (she best be simply waiting patiently on the porch) likely isn't helping either, given they're at the heart of the whole (stupidity) burning thing.

Marian Hawke

She shakes her head. "It wasn't like this with Rhea. I want her gone."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

Varric frowns, tensing a little. "Her specifically then? Any idea why?"
