[Isabela]

"I figured she can get out of the cells in the Lantern, given how long she's had to potentially study them. Or rather, I doubt she's thought of it, but if I were Lord Hand I'd assume she knew everything about the Lantern's security by now. Those cells aren't meant for Sages." She shrugs. "Deep thought, I didn't think of. That's nasty. I love it. But there's no way she went in there without a fight and we'd have heard if she threw a tantrum like that on her way in. No, she's probably at Fengate. Fengate allows visitors, sometimes, if she's not in solitary."

[Varric]

"So you're thinking to..?" He trails off for a second. "Just ask to visit?"

[Isabela]

"To start with. Why not? Always works for Hawke. It's not like we can't break in later if we have to, but I know these guys and I am her wife after all."

[Varric]

That gets a thoughtful pause. "All true... and they already know you're in town so we'd not be giving anything they don't already know away." He nods slowly, warming to the idea. "Need to figure out how to sneak me in along with you, unknown. Or at least allow me to see what you do, talk to you."

[Isabela]

"Transmute you into Silence?"

[Varric]

Varric stares at her, then slowly turns his head to met Silence's gaze. As one, they both turn back to Isabela.

"Next idea?" Silence grunts her agreement.

[Isabela]

"I'm just saying, if you were polymorphed into a Mabari -- maybe Beka instead, so Silence could come -- they wouldn't look twice at it. Invisibility they're sure to catch but I don't think they force you into your true shape when you enter the station. So you just need a good disguise. You're a bit short for Zev, unless we use magic."

[Varric]

"Zevran," Varric says instantly, latching onto not being a dog. "I could be Zevran. Well. Serious Zevran."

[Isabela]

"Physically," she says slowly. "And you could fake a throat injury, keep your mouth shut. It might work."

[Varric]

Varric frowns, then bows his head for a moment. When he looks up, he's smiling. It's... a flirty smile, one that doesn't look forced or out of place even though Isabela knows him far too well to not know it has to be fake. "I am deeply wounded by your lack of faith, mon coeur. Perhaps you could make it up to me later, hmm?" It's not dead on by any means; even setting aside the wrong face and voice, but the inflection, wording and eyebrow waggle are damn close. 

[Isabela]

"Not bad," she says slowly. "But can you flirt with Hawke without throwing up?" 

[Varric]

He makes a face. "That's why I said serious Zevran. I can crack a joke or two, but I'll just lean heavily on the whole 'visiting my wife in sodding jail for being accused of murdering our shared wife' angle."

[Isabela]

"She'll think he's rejecting her because of what she did. And we don't know how he'll actually feel about her." She leans back, closing her eyes a moment, then opens them. "Wait, I'm an idiot. We paint you blue and disguise you as Helene."

[Varric]

There's a long pause. "That," another pause, "could maybe work, yes. They shouldn't know ne is busy with the ritual." His eyes twitch back and forth as if studying something. "Can't fake nir magic-- or rather, I can fake it, I can't mimic it. But otherwise, should be doable."

[Isabela]

"Yeah. Just, I don't know, claim to be out of spell slots or something, or decline to cast. Or get a wand, I mean, it's probably only the Truthing spells that they'd want. But that should be way easier and honestly, Hawke has a way of overlooking Helene sometimes, like she's not quite sure what to do with her. Nir. She'll ask about Zev but I can claim he's busy at Voice and sent Helene instead. Should we put together a care package or something? I've never visited someone in jail before, at least, not officially."
