Go Down

Isabela

"Helene," warns Isabela, but that's as far as she gets before Marian cuts her off.
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Marian Hawke

"I'd rather go to prison than go back there."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

That gets a startled look. " I had not realized that you thought so negatively of the Doctor's facility?"

Marian Hawke

"If I go back they might not let me out again. Prison has an end date," she says, looking down at her toes. "And it's not like it's much better than prison."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"You would be released when you are well," Helene says slowly. (Oh what's happened to you?) "The Doctor and his staff are very skilled and dedicated. You would heal, this one is sure if it." (Please)

Marian Hawke

"I was lucky to get out the first time. Joni's cousin's been in there for five years now."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"And there are some that are released in a month's time. The time spent is the time required. The more you work to heal, the more honest you are about what troubles you have, the faster you are not only released but also well again."

Marian Hawke

"I'm not sick." Marian takes a deep breath, letting it out. "Stop acting like I'm running a fever. I'm... I'm coping."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"You are an alcoholic with depression, whose intent to self harm lead to- to this." Helene leans forward slightly, lips pressed thin as ne glares at Hawke. "Explain how this is 'coping' please and thank you."

Marian Hawke

"I told him not to go. I told all of you what I'd become. This is better, you know this is better."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Isabela

"I'm not sure it is, Hawke," says Isabela quietly. "I plan to write to your father."
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Marian Hawke

"Don't you dare. I don't want him to know all this."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"Ah," Helene says, voice carefully awkward. Ne glances away after making the sound, shifting from foot to foot.

Marian Hawke

Marian's face falls. "How could you?" But a moment later, another, more urgent question falls from her lips: "Is he coming back?"
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

Varric

"This one does not know what Varric's plans are." And it's not even a lie, as that worthy is currently very conflicted on what he should do. "But you must realize he would have found out, yes? Such an event as this would be included in the many newsletters and, ah, informational packets he receives regularly, from both Clan and from independent sources. Better he hear from Clan" (and gods be damned that I didn't hear more about the lead up than I did) "than a possibly biased source."
