"Fine," she sighs, "but make it quick."

[Varric]

Nir tone turns brisk and they resume writing-- or perhaps reading?-- from nir notepad. "Have you had any abnormal dreams? Awake or sleeping. Not necessarily nightmares, though commonly so?" 

[Marian Hawke]

"Define abnormal. My dreams are pretty fucked up, always have been. Vivid. Lately I have nightmares a lot."

[Varric]

"Abnormal for you, Marian zi'Hawke, specifically. Particularly any abnormalities that occurred abruptly or lasted for a significant duration. Apologies. Significant in this case would be a period that is at least two standard deviations longer than is typical for you."

[Marian Hawke]

"No," she finally concludes. 

[Varric]

Helene scribbles something, then looks back up. "Thank you. Next question. Have you come into possession of an object in the last few months that has become of particularly prized by you? Or something that you feel compelled to keep secret, protect or preserve despite it being inconvenient or lacking a definable reason for doing so?"

[Marian Hawke]

"You mean besides the poison I mentioned? No."

[Varric]

"Where is the poison now? The bottle and instructions?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I don't know."

[Varric]

"Because of time passing, mental confusion or deliberate action? Your's or another's?"

[Marian Hawke]

"Like I said, I don't remember going home last night, I don't remember what happened or where the poison is."

[Varric]

"You said you put it in juice and that there were instructions; do you remember what you did with those?"

[Marian Hawke]

"Originally I stored it with the juice. But I don't remember where I moved it to."

[Varric]

"When did you do the mixing? How long again?"
