NPCs

"The poison was intended to be fatal then?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

Ah. "Yes. It was mixed to a degree that I was informed would be fatal if the entire bottle were to be drank."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Informed how and by whom?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"The poison came with instructions. They were the source of that information. They listed lethality by dose and body weight. I mixed it to a degree I understood to be more than sufficient to destroy someone of my weight and height."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Why and how did you acquire or produce the poison?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"A group of bandits had it. I eliminated their group back in Olath and kept the poison for myself. I had half a thought to use it even back then, but I never got up the courage."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

That gets slight-- or more-- frowns from around the room. "What other purposes or outcomes did you consider for the poison?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"No--" She can't finish the word, though she scowls. "I did not seriously consider any others," she amends.
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"What are those other considerations? You may be general or broad in this response," Vosang grants her, clearly intending to simply follow up on any interesting categories.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"I have flippantly considered using it against my enemies on a few occasions, but never seriously. Primarily when I was angry."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Who do you consider enemies in this context?"
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

"Devils, slavers, rapists, serial murderers, and those who threaten my Clan or the peace of Nyra. And the Iron Bitch."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

Vosang directs a scowl towards Helene, though it's clear the expression is meant for the one standing next to nem. The ratfolk doesn't seem the type to be okay with someone chuckling loudly during his questioning. He doesn't say anything about it however, instead refocusing on Hawke. "Did you ever consider using it on a political rival or obstacle? A business partner or competitor? Any of your 'Clan?' An academic hindrance of any kind? Answer each separately and specifically."
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Marian Hawke

I have political rivals? "I did not consider using it on a political rival or obstacle. I did not consider using it on a business partner or competitor. I did not consider using it on any of my Clan. I did briefly consider using it on a particular professor I dislike, but I was not serious in this intent."
Honesty. Openness. Trust. Not being stabbed in the gut with a sword.

NPCs

"Hah," Varric crows in a bare whisper, glancing down at Helene with an almost savagely pleased grin. A bizarrely familiar grin, ne notes.

"The name of the professor?" Vosang asks promptly, perhaps more for formality's sake than anything else.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!
