"Why are you unable to recall when the last time you were inebriated was?"

[Marian Hawke]

"The last time I was inebriated was last night. I do not recall when the last time I interacted with the juice was."

[NPCs]

"When was the last time you can recall interacting with the poisoned juice? Include the most recent and the most recent time you can be sure of the date, if they are not the same event."

[Marian Hawke]

"I recall..." She closes her eyes, thinking. "I recall how smooth the bottle was, and it surprised me, because my hands were so rough I'd forgotten things could be that smooth. It was late at night, and I thought about what the bottle could do, how I could get out of having my midterm if I poisoned my teacher. Then I felt ashamed, right away, for even thinking it. I thought how I could drink it myself and end everything, and also not have to take my midterm. So I'd wager it was right before midterms, or maybe during midterm week. I remember a more recent time I went to look for the bottle but I couldn't find it, and then I went to the kitchen and Merrill was there so I didn't grab a knife, I just tried to act sober until she caught on and put me to bed. But I couldn't tell you when that was."

[NPCs]

"Please provide an approximate date, as well as the degree of uncertainty."

[Marian Hawke]

"Midterms were the week of Ermin 16th so... Ermin 15, give or take a few days?"

[NPCs]

"And the other incident you referred to, where Miss zi'Hawke interrupted you?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I don't remember exactly, but it was a few weeks ago. Certainly this month." It being Menki. 

[NPCs]

"And the span between?"

[Marian Hawke]

"There were other times, but I honestly couldn't tell you when they were exactly. I think at least twice in between there."

[NPCs]

A pause. "My apologies. I had meant to ask how long do you feel the time span between the confirmed interaction with the bottle and the time when you were interrupted was in order to further clarify the timeline."

[Marian Hawke]

"Uh... somewhere between two weeks and a month, I guess. I feel like it was closer to three weeks. It wasn't this week, that's for sure. So it must have been last week or the week before."

[NPCs]

He nods sharply, just a quick movement up and down twice. "Why have you been considering taking lethal poison?"

[Marian Hawke]

"I... I haven't been myself, lately. I've been struggling. My family-- my Clan -- is falling apart, and it's all my fault. I don't feel like the hero I used to be. I feel washed up, miserable, empty. So I drink to forget."

[NPCs]

"What have you done or not done to call this occurrence your fault?"

Next to Helene, the merikos elf lets out a very soft, but very deep rumbling sound. A rapid sound too.
