"If she still has him, he's dead, or wishes he was and will be soon," Cedric manages, taking a deep, hiccoughing breath.

Zevran

"I doubt--" Zevran takes a precious second to form his answer better. "She is a sexist cunt. She doesn't even see Bull as his own person; not worth punishing beyond correcting behavior or punishing someone else. I have met her kind many times before. If she captured him, it was only to keep him from you. A hostage at most and, I suspect, more likely an offering to Danarius to appease him about my loss."

"Denarious... if he has him, maybe there's hope we can get him free?" wonders Cedric.

Zevran

"Danarius," Zevran corrects Cedric. "And... possibly. I mean, all things are possible, of course, but this might be-- Depending on what use it decides to make of Bull, it's entirely possible we could simply ransom his freedom for coin."

Coquette Blacquin

"Coin I can get," agrees Cedric, taking another shaky breath. "And the other husbands?"

Zevran

"Ah, well, Nox, Lux and Nathaniel are still back at the manor. They were not involved, carefully and purposely so, and were not harmed or even aware of any trouble last I knew. I suspect, based on what Isabela told me about what Varisia told her, that they have been informed that you were attacked and are likely dead. Or, well, given our escape, attacked and taken. Likely blaming me and/or Bull."

Coquette Blacquin

"Let them believe we are dead," he says in a low rumble. "If they're fool enough to believe Bull would ever turn on me, then let them. It doesn't matter. We've gotten away and we're not going back."

Zevran

That gets a faint smile. "I do not know them well, not really, but what I do know suggests that neither of the twins would be so foolish. Me, they might believe that of, but not Bull." He goes silent then, petting Justina after being prompted by a low growl. "This one stowed herself inside your baggage while Isabela was packing. Gave the porter a good scare and scar both when she came out of hiding. Last I heard, he's decided to claim a dire tiger caused the wound."

Cedric is quiet a moment, steeling himself, before he asks quietly, "And Shisou?"

Zevran

Damn. I was hoping to get a little release of tension from that before... "Alive," he says simply. "Damaged, scarred and hurting badly, but alive and with us. We're heading to a druid enclave where Isabela has connections. There are several very powerful and very skilled healers living there, devotees of the local tree god Raplin I believe."

Cedric nods, seeming a little relieved as he looks down at the cat, moving to scritch between her ears. "Alright," he says, slowly. "Could have been worse."

Zevran

"I, ah, I gather you do not recall... anything of what occurred either?"

Coquette Blacquin

"No," he says bluntly. "I don't think I was out during it. And I can't find Little Bitch to ask her."

Zevran

"You--" Zevran frowns, worry creeping over his face. "You were. Out, that is. Or, at least-- During the fever, you spoke, in a scattered way, of what occured. So you did know, at least some of it, then. Is that... Has this happened like this before? You just, well, forgetting things? Big things?"

Coquette Blacquin

"No," he says quickly. "Or well. I guess, how would I know? But as far as I know, we just forget things that Little Bitch takes away for us. And I can't find her. So she didn't take this. We just... it must have been Cindy that was out for whatever Varisia did."
