NPCs

The female unworthy in question, however, does openly watch Coquette as she crosses the room. Much more worryingly, Coquette suddenly hears Tenachka's voice, despite the distance, despite the devilborn's mouth not moving. ~Well well well. That was a most interesting display, child. From delightful pride to deep submission to elegant confidence, each and all so smoothly done. Why, it was almost like magic!~ A pleased, almost girlish giggle follows the message.
We are many. We are legion. We are... NPCs!

Coquette Blacquin

She can't help it -- she falters, just half a step, in her otherwise smooth glide. That's all; no response, not even a glance her direction, just serenely exiting into the broad central hallway.

Claudia Emerison

Thankfully, her exit comes uninterrupted from there. It's not a long walk back to her rooms, a good thing tonight, as the numbing ointment on her back can only do so much, especially when Coquette's gait, however elegant, causes the skin on her back to bend and stretch. Estelle came through, not that Coquette had particularly doubted her in this instance, and there's a healer-- a weathered gnome male-- waiting in the foyer.

And so is Claudia. "Coquette! What's going on? Why did E-Estelle send Wilding Besmer to wait for you? What's going on?"

Coquette Blacquin

"I offended a trumped-up harlot who thinks she's a noblewoman," grumbles Coquette. "And so I had to be publicly beaten to show my remorse." Devoid of nudity taboo, she strips as soon as she's in her quarters, so the healer can see her back.

Claudia Emerison

"Publicly b-Sweet Science, your back!"

The healer, having averted his gaze when Coquette started undressing, whips his head around. Actually seeing her wound, however, he calms. "Contusions, no bleeding and..." He takes a step forward, sniffing the air. "Chillbalm ointment? Not a bad choice, though I wager you wish for magical healing?"

Coquette Blacquin

"By the bright gods, of course I do," she mutters. "Yes, he was exceedingly careful with me, but I'd prefer not to be in pain any longer than I have to."

Claudia Emerison

"Of course, mi'lady," the healer says smoothly, stepping forward. "Then, by Ere'lyn's grace and prowess, regain your strength and be hale once more." There's a faint not-scent of sunlight after morning rain, then a wave of soothing energy stalking down her arm and across her back. It takes one more spell to fully remove any ache or tenderness, but soon enough Coquette is completely unmarked by her most recent ordeal. Bodily, at least.

"Okay, so healed, now--" Claudia breaks off, glancing at the healer. "Errr, I mean, thank you for your service Wildling, hope you have a great evening, sure I'll be seeing you around." The healer's expression is somewhat unamused but not really offended-- it's clear enough why she's kicking him out so abruptly after all, and he's not so insensitive as to not sympathize.

Coquette Blacquin

"I do appreciate your services, Wilding," she says generously, as she ushers him to the door. Once he's out, she turns back to Claudia with a sigh.

Claudia Emerison

Claudia is watching her with huge eyes. Her mouth opens, words fail, and she just makes a circling motion with one hand.

"My male tended to her girl's wounds after she cut up her back something fierce with a cane -- worse than I was beaten -- and she claimed offense, saying he interfered with her discipline and so lowered the value of the goods. So I bought the debased goods off her, accepted a beating in lieu of having to administer one to my male, and publicly apologized." She smirks. "Badly."

Claudia Emerison

The imisy gnome nods her head slowly as Coquette relates all of this. "Well fuck. Wait. How did you apologize badly, exactly?"

Coquette Blacquin

She waves a hand. "Vaguely. I had just been beaten -- well, and I was deep in the submissive mindset. You see, we turned it into a dominance game for their entertainment, so that she did not achieve the humiliation she desired."

Claudia Emerison

Claudia flushes, the pales, looking away. "Oh. Umm. That's... good. I mean, glad you're okay," she mumbles, her tone suddenly awkward and faintly trembling with a number of suppressed emotions.

Coquette Blacquin

She smirks. "would you like to be next, little pet?"

Claudia Emerison

Eyes whipping back around, Claudia squeaks. Repeatedly. Coquette is fairly certain the younger woman is speaking but she's never gotten the chance to learn Squirrel.
