Go Down

Coquette Blacquin

"Did my wife hurt my horse?" she asks, tone frosty as ice.

The Iron Bull

"What? Oh! Uh, no? I mean, not that I know about?" Bull frowns. "Direct like anyway. Nah, it was the other one, uh, Regal. He's not gelded and you ain't got any mares, so he's, uh, well, he seems to have decided poor Jassy will do well enough. Jassy wasn't having any of that and raised a ruckus, woke me up and I stepped in afore either of them hurt the other too badly. Jus some scrapes and bruises really, nuthing serious."

Of course, by this point, Coquette has begun to realize that The Iron Bull is perhaps not the best judge of where the line between 'trivial' and 'needs medical attention' is in regards to injuries. Just a few days ago, she saw him ripping out some invasive thorn bushes out of the pasture with his bare hands with no concern over the inch long thorns. He'd bled some, though not as much as she might have expected, but had simply finished his task and washed the blood off.

Cindy hops the fence in one fluid motion, despite her skirts, and heads straight for her horse. "Let me see," she orders, though she doesn't go around behind the horse until he sees her to avoid spooking him. She doesn't try to touch the shoulder wound, frowning. I'm no expert, but this might need stitches.

"This looks bad," she says with a wince, examining Jasper's rear end, where he's still oozing some blood. "Hey--" she warns, as the horse flinches away from her attempting to move his tail, lifting a leg as if to kick. "Still sensitive. I'll send for an expert." You too, huh boy? Fuck her and fuck her stallion. Irresponsible gits, both of them.

The Iron Bull

"It does?" Bull winces, rubbing the back of his neck. "Damn, sorry. Uh, sorry twice? I cleaned the neck bites, that's why he's sour on me a little, I used some witch hazel and mint, which stings some. His..." Bull hesitates, trying to find a word that isn't explicit. "Back end? His back end isn't near as bad. Regal when for a mount and didn't get it finished, so the little sh-- jerk, little jerk started a fight. Managed to kick him some with his front hooves during a rear up." A look of worry surfaces and he quickly adds, "oh and Regal's fine. Really fine, I mean. Way less injuries than Jassssper. Our boyo here was way more interested in escape than fighting."

"Poor baby," croons Cindy, now that Cedric is beginning to settle and let go. "I know how you must feel. Don't worry. I won't let him hurt you again."

The Iron Bull

"Regal had a go at you too?" Bull asks sympathetically, patting her firmly on the back. "Horse really needs to be reined in. Heh, reined. He's mostly learned that there ain't no point in coming at me, shows he's not dumb that, but he still tries to push nearas everyone else around."

Coquette Blacquin

"Hmm? Oh, no -- but he is a good match in temperament for his owner."

The Iron Bull

Bull frowns, trying to fit that together and not liking the shape the pieces insist on making. "Hey, new topic sorta; you ever learn any self-defense? Down and dirty, no manners, ruthless and practical stuff, I mean."

"I am a champion fencer," she admits. "But I currently lack a proper bodyguard. It's one of the positions I've yet to fill in the household, along with my lady-in-waiting, lady's maids, and seamstress."

The Iron Bull

Bull perks up, though it's not really interest he's projecting. "Hey, that's what ma Da used to do. Well, I mean, he did a lots of things, but bodyguarding was his thing-thing, ya know?" He laughs, and despite the loudness of it, Jasper's ears flick forward and the horse steps towards him, lipping at his arm. "Oye, you greedy gutter," he chuckles, shaking his head. He does, however, procure another apple slice from the pouch at his waist. "Sorrys, just remembering the once time ma Ma tried to do the bodyguarding deal. It, uh, it was not her thing."

Finding herself slightly jealous of her horse, Cindy asks, almost without thinking, "What about your thing? Are you more of an animal person or a people person?"

The Iron Bull

"Uhhhh." Bull rolls his head from side to side, giving the careless question far more thought than most people would bother. "Friendly person. I mean-- Well, I guess I mean I'm friendly too, but I was try'na say that I guess I don't much care either way? It's right nice to be able to talk to a friend, true and sure, but a friend's a friend, even if he's a horse. Ain't that right, Jassy?" he asks, voice a rumbling sing-song. He steps back a little, pressing his side against the horse, who blows a lungful of air in his face and leans back.

Coquette Blacquin

"Have you any experience at bodyguarding?" A pause, and then, with a startled look on her face, she continues, "I know you have some experience at fighting, at least."

The Iron Bull

"Uh." He blinks a few times. 'cause I fought a horse? "Not... really? I mean, yeah, I can fight." He grins broadly, a bit of battlelust sparkling in his eyes. "I can fight real good," he boosts happily. "Never done any real guarding tho. Looked after a few people sorta low key, ya know, back at, uh, my old job?" He coughs. "But that wasn't professional work, just looking out."

Coquette Blacquin

"Have you any interest in it? As much as I prefer to have someone looking out for my horse's well being, I suspect my wife would prefer I be guarded than Jasper."
