Coquette Blacquin

"I'm certain Varisia will insist on choosing my healer. I meant more... I've never been pregnant before, but it's said to be... challenging, for some people. Narrow-hipped elven folk, especially having a non-elven baby, often struggle."

The Iron Bull

He doesn't mean to, but his eyes drop to look at her hips. Then linger for just a few seconds before he yanks them away, blanching. "I- yeah, I-- fu-- dammit, I'm sorry. I-- yeah, real healer. Good." His eyes close and he shudders just a little.

Coquette Blacquin

"...you can look," she says quietly. "I don't mind. Or well... it'll be impossible for you to not look. I think the whole point of my punishment is that people will look. So."

The Iron Bull

"It's wrong," Bull says tightly, eyes still closed. "I ain't gonna be like-- like her. I won't take from you like that."

Coquette Blacquin

"Bull..."

She moves up next to him, running her fingers along the line of his jaw. "It's alright. I promise."

The Iron Bull

He tenses under her touch but doesn't pull away. "I heard," he whispers, his voice trembling with repressed emotion. "Last night. I was-- Couldn't move, couldn't barely think and I went in'an out a lot but I heard her... hurting you." He opens his eyes, revealing the red glow of his irises. "I hate her for what she did'ta you. You don't deserve that, none of that. I-- I want to help you. Whatever you need. Please."

Coquette Blacquin

"It wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last," she says quietly, searching his face. "Just... stay by my side." Love me. "Care for me. Keep wanting to protect me. That's all I need from you. Just one person who honestly cares about me."

As his warm, safe arms encircle her small, thin form, she loses control and weeps into his chest. "Just stay with me," she begs. "Just be here."

Please, Ciren, just let me keep him.

The next day, Zevran receives another summons after supper -- and oddly enough, so does Shisou. Does the Lady want to talk to them both about their date? Or is something more sinister going on?

As he reaches Coquette's chambers, the stuttering human at his side, The Iron Bull is the one to open the door and escort them inside. The large, muscular minotaur-man is rarely seen away from Coquette's side, and sure enough, she is within, seated on the same sofa as before, though this time she wears only bloomers and a breastband. "Good evening, both of you. I have a proposition for you."

Zevran

Zevran eyes are completely blank, empty of any emotion or sign of motivation. His body appears loose and relaxed but his posture is such that he can move in any direction in an instant. The linen napkin he's twisted around his right fist looks perfectly innocent, a sign of nerves or anxiety and nothing more. A vague, not quite creepy smile on his lips, Zevran doesn't reply verbally, instead just giving a very minute nod as if to confirm he can hear her.

Coquette Blacquin

"Your part in this is, thankfully, the lesser," she says to Zevran, with a small nod. "You have refused to grant me a child, and I respect that. Unfortunately, my wife desires one. Therefore, I am going to have to take somewhat unusual measures."

A pause as she gathers her thoughts, a pause in which Shisou sits on the edge of the other couch, nervously jiggling a leg.

"It is entirely plausible for Zevran to grant me a child that is human. We are both merikos, and so, it is more than common enough. Shisou being human as well, any child he could grant me, Zevran could grant me as well. Therefore, if you are amenable, Shisou, I believe it is time you granted me a child. Zevran, your role in this deceit is to simply show up in my bed chambers, therefore providing a show of sexual activity that you need not follow through on -- though if you are interested in a threesome, I won't turn the offer down. I know you two are becoming good friends, perhaps lovers, and so, if you wish to couple without me in my chambers, all I ask is that we perform the deeds required for pregnancy first. I have begun taking alchemical supplements that will increase the likelihood of pregnancy."

Zevran

The merikos drow, who had gone so still as to stop even breathing, takes a half step back as Coquette finishes. Shifting his stance back to balanced, he uses his new angle to get a good look at Shisou, wanting to get as accurate a reading on his reaction to all of this nonsense as he can. This makes no sense. It is far too elaborate and far-fetched for some type of trap, too clumsy and ludicrous for a simple deception, and it is simply not possible... People as she is attempting to portray herself as simply do not exist.

Shisou

Shisou swallows, then swallows again. "I w-w-w-w-would b-b-b-b-e g-g-g-g-glad t-t-t-to h-h-h-h-help, b-b-b-but... m-m-m-m-my p-p-p-p-par-r-ren-t-s were m-m-m-meri-kos. M-m-mmy s-s-s-s-sis-s-s-st-t-t-ers w-w-w-were k-k-k-k-its-s-s-su-n-n-n-e a-a-a-and w-w-w-w-wolf-b-b-b-blo-o-o-d. S-s-s-so t-th-there's a ch-ch-chan-ce..."

Coquette Blacquin

Coquette explodes to her feet, eyes narrow, mouth set. Her voice lowers into a growl, and becomes darker, more angry, as she snaps out, "That would have been good to know before now."

"s-s-s-s-s-o-o-o-o-r-r-r-r-y-y-y," stammers Shisou, sinking back into the couch and raising his shoulders in shame.

"It isn't your fault," growls out the clearly furious Coquette as he begins to pace. "I just have to plan around it. Accomodate all the variables."

The Iron Bull

Bull grunts, stepped into Cedric's way after his second pass. "Hey," he rumbles, pitching his voice low despite using in Giantish. "You are scaring Shy One and provoking Moody One. Perhaps you should step out of room?" And indeed, Zevran, despite his attempts to remain passive, has very visibly gone on alert with hands half raised and his knees bent slightly.

Cedric glares at Bull, but after a moment, relents. He takes a deep breath, then another, letting them out slowly. His hands first untense, then release from fists, then flex as he intentionally straightens his fingers as far as they can go. They close and open a few times, a strange kneading motion as he breathes deeply, eyes closing.

Finally, he turns back to the other two, giving a small bow. "Forgive me if I frightened you," he says, his voice still low but with much of the bite removed from it. "This is... not my first choice of plans, you understand. I am trying to protect all four of us and coming up with precious few guarantees. It makes me... frustrated. My wife is used to getting what she wants, so if I do not produce what she is hoping for, she will attempt to force the issue."

Zevran

"What will she do?" Zevran asks abruptly. "If she is told she will not get this child?"
