Go Down

Coquette Blacquin

She giggles, then laughs out loud, doubling over at the waist as mirth takes her too strongly to be denied. "I'm s-s-s-s-s-sorry," she stammers out. "B-b-b-ut! I'm alive. I'm alive, and you're adorable, and maybe we can be a family, and it's all too much, I can't take it all in at once."

Lux

"'m wickedly sexy and charming," he mutters, lower lip jutting out in a criminally cute pout.
Interest you a bit of something... wicked?

When she finally gets ahold of herself a few minutes later, wiping tears from her eyes, she plants a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you," she says quietly. "For saving me. For listening. For being yourself, and not... some further trial for me to face."

Lux

Lux feels like he should argue; tell her that he's not so special, that he didn't do anything so grand or even that he feels much the same about her. But... "You're welcome," he says instead, pout smoothing out into a crooked smile. "I... I know it'll be worth the effort and the risks. All of this, I mean. The life we can all have together, it'll be worth what we have to do for it."

Coquette Blacquin

She's still holding his hand when they walk back to the house, though she lets go when she sees Bull running toward her. I guess he found the note I left. That or Nox told him. Or he overheard Nox talking to Varisia. Or...

The Iron Bull

She needn't have bothered, as the imisy minotaur's arm span is enough to get both of them at once. He doesn't speak-- maybe can't yet-- but instead just holds and trembles.

Coquette Blacquin

She buries her face against his shoulder, aware that both she and Lux are damp, and unsure if he cares at this point. "Bull," she whimpers.

The Iron Bull

"Never again," he demands, voice tight and harsh. There's terror in there, and relief, yes, but there's also anger.

Coquette Blacquin

She pulls back just enough to see his face, though his arms tense around her just a bit. "Bull?"

The Iron Bull

"Promise me," he growls, eyes shimmering red as his rage refracts through a sheen of tears. "Never again. Ever."

Coquette Blacquin

She ducks her head. "I can't. Bull... if things get worse..."

The Iron Bull

Coquette Blacquin

She breaks down in sobs, burying her face against his chest. I can't. I don't care what She says, I can't do it.

Promise him, another part of her whispers. Let it go. You know you won't do it. Cedric won't let you do it. I won't let you do it. Let it go. This was your one chance, and it didn't work. Let go and learn to love Varisia the way I do.

I can't. She's going to hurt me again. She's going to do awful things to me and I can't stop her and I can't...

The Iron Bull

Bull whines softly, arms tightening around her. Lux had taken advantage of the slack Coquette created to turn so he's embracing her as well, with Bull's arms around them both in a double-layered hug. "Coquette, please," he begs. "Please. I can't lose you. Please don't leave me."

Coquette Blacquin

"I can't say never," she whispers. "But not now. Okay? Not now. I just.... she's going to blame me for what happened and she's going to punish me and I can't... I feel so empty and fragile right now."
