[Zevran]

Zevran listens, actually nodding near the end. "Well reasoned and reasonable both. But I was unclear; why is killing necessary to be a... Midnight Princess? I have known many heroes that have never taken a life."

[Shisou]

"Oh, that?" Xe snorts. "Kid never gets a break. One of these days, kid's gonna fight a devil or something that won't stop unless it's killed. Better safe than sorry."

[Zevran]

"I did specify 'a life' this time," Zevran counters, waving a hand. "A devil is far from the same as a mortal." A pause. "No offence intended by implication."

[Shisou]

"Devils, mortals... they're not the same, exactly, but there are mortals where you couldn't tell the difference," xe grumbles. 

[Zevran]

"By deed and heart, yes, but the fact that outsiders do not actually die does make it easier for most people to use 'lethal' force without guilt later on," Zevran explains. "And there is also that sceleratis cannot change, but it is possible for any mortal, no matter their past, to become better. Theoretically."

[Shisou]

"I ain't no god, but I don't believe, that," grumbles Carbonne. "There comes a time a man is past all redemption. He's too bad to want to be good and he can't be good without wanting to."

[Zevran]

"Theoretically," Zevran repeats with a shrug. "I would certainly say that there are many that are not worth attempting to redeem."

[Shisou]

"And those men, we kill." Carbonne gives another lizardy shrug. "It's that simple. Kid, you look bored, you decide if you'er changing back yet or what?"

"Uh." Shiori pinks a little. 

[Nox]

"Can I brush your hair first?" Nox blurts out.

[Shisou]

"I-- yes, I'd love that. Oh, but it's a little short," she adds, patting at it. "I can see if it'll let me do longer n-next--- oh." Next time. When? Idiot.

"No! I mean, yes, technically, but no, this is very, very illegal in Alessa."

[Zevran]

"Beg pardon?" Zevran asks, new to the city and confused by the claim.
