Coquette Blacquin

"Bull I swear to Junon, if you don't come out this instant--!"

The Iron Bull

There's a faint rustling noise, then Bull strides out of the bedroom with a dramatic yawn. If he wasn't short of breath from hustling while not breathing due to the common beginner's assumption that doing so is the best way to be stealthy, a six-year old might have though the yawn to be an honest one. "Oh hey-- what's-- up?" he half pants.

The Iron Bull

Dropping his attempts, Bull draws himself up and glares at Coquette. "I'm your damn bodyguard and if I hear you having an argument when yer supposed to be by yourself, yer damn right I'mma move in soft to see if you're in danger."

Coquette Blacquin

"Well as you can see, I'm here. Alone. By my damn self. So you can piss right off, got it?"

The Iron Bull

Bull's eyes narrow, a hint of red forming. He swallows back the first retort, managing instead, "alone mebbe but you ain't okay.*

"You were having a full blown conversation with herself."

"And I think you were losing."

"Look, sometimes it helps to... to get things out of my head when I'm real conflicted about something, okay?"

The Iron Bull

"Uh-huh." Bull crosses his arms, giving her a long look. "Well, go on then. Keep talking."

Coquette Blacquin

She blushes. "Wh-- no! It's weird now that you're here."

"Look, it's... can you keep a secret?" Her voice changes subtly as she says this, softening a bit, more like the not-angry version of her that was arguing.

The Iron Bull

"...seriously?" he asks the Crimson Oni flatly.

Coquette Blacquin

"Yes, he can, but no,  he doesn't need to know," snaps the angrier version of her voice.

"Please," she says quietly. "It gets so lonely... I want to trust someone."

"....fine. But you have to do it, not me," she replies, and then her posture deflates a little. She looks sadder, less angry, more... kind.

"We... we have a secret, even from Varisia," she says quietly, looking away.

The Iron Bull

Bull leans back a little, eyeing her warily. "Uhhhh. 'We?' is that, uh, like... us two we, royal we, possesed by ghosts we or, umm, my spy group and me we?"

She winces. "Not... ghosts, exactly. I don't think I'm possessed. But, ever since I was younger, I started talking to myself in my head. And sometimes, my head talks back. Um. I think there's four of us now, at least. I don't really know what happened to cause it, but it doesn't feel like a stranger. We've just... always been that way. The more things get worse, the more of us appear."
