"Cindy wears her heart on her chest. I have more control and poise than that. But I assure you, I am beside myself with rage. She has crossed a line she cannot uncross."

The Iron Bull

Bull shakes his head. "No, sorry, I don't mean-- Not about ya not showing it, I can see a bit of it. Nah, I mean that I didn't expect you would be this upset about it in the firs' place. Why this is that line as you said."

Coquette Blacquin

"She is cheating on me. There are few things in life more disgraceful than an unfaithful wife. I would prefer to be beaten than cheated on."

The Iron Bull

Bull nods slowly. "Yeah, I got that too," he assures her, though he's a bit baffled about why that's overtaken the whole raped and enslaved girl thing. "Just... I mean, well, why is this time different?"

Coquette Blacquin

"...What do you mean, this time?" she asks slowly.

The Iron Bull

Bull shifts awkwardly, gaze drifting down to lock on the coin in his hand. "Fuck," he mutters. "You-- you didn't know? Not about-- 'bout any of..?"

"I had been under the impression she limited herself to men," she hisses. "As I have been limited."

Bull relaxes a little at that. "Ah, good. Good. That's-- Okay. Little weird that it being a man changes things that much? Unless it's more that it's equal rather than-- sorry. But, umm, no." He clears his throat. "Sorry, feeling a bit out of it; hard to be this social and relaxed after fighting back a rage like earlier."

"Men are no different than using a toy," she says, waving a hand dismissively. "Only another woman can truly bring one to the depths of ecstasy as an equal partner. Being with a woman -- a slave woman, a wet nurse, of all things! She has no respect for me as her equal. None. She sees me as a thing to be used, as a slave she has dressed up in pretty gowns."

The Iron Bull

Bull slowly lifts his head to stare at her. "The actual fuck?"

Coquette Blacquin

"I mean you no offense," she says, with a small sigh. "You know I respect you as a bodyguard and as a confidant. But you are not my wife. Being with you takes nothing from her. Her being with Blossom is humiliating. It says that I cannot please her, that she is forced to sink to such depths to find her pleasure. It says that she is still famished at home to be hungry for scraps she can get elsewhere. And it is immoral, to lie with a slave. It is rape, which is the lowest form of pleasure-taking."

The Iron Bull

Thank you Cindy, Bull thinks sourly though honestly. "Right, sure. What're your views on her fucking singers, lesser ranked, unmarried noblewoman or priestesses?"

Coquette Blacquin

"A singer at least could be said to have something I lack, though I would be unhappy about it. I do not enjoy being disrespected. A lesser ranked woman? A priestess? No. Again, why would she need them if she got what she needed at home?"

The Iron Bull

Bull nods, lips pursed as he considers her answer. "Can't say I know the answers there," he finally replies.

"And so. If she wants me in her bed once more, it is her turn to do some grovelling." She turns back to her book, turning the page again. Bull would realize it's one of her favorite books, she's read it a million times before, because she certainly hasn't seen a word of it tonight.
