[Shisou]

"So we made it illegal," comments Indou, offhandedly. 

Shisou nods. "B-b-b-but w-w-w-w-e k-kn-know th-they s-st-still d-d-d-d-do it."

[Varisia Primfana]

Varisia hums softly. "I see. Alessia had the same trouble, right after the Fall." She smiles, bright and savage. "We solved it the same way, by making it illegal. It turns out? Having your hand be eaten by larval carrion crawlers in the central plaza of town, the stump seared shut with molten brass, is surprisingly convincing as a deterrent for such behavior."

[GamesMaster]

"Ha! I like your style. But no, we made topless shows illegal, I mean. That way we can shut down any who won't control their audience."

[Varisia Primfana]

"But it is... not illegal to grope a woman." That isn't said as a question, though she would like for the explanation to be contrary to her statement this once.

[GamesMaster]

"Nah. If a family's men can't protect their women, they don't deserve to have them."

[Varisia Primfana]

Varisia snorts. "In other words, any peasant woman is fair game to basically anyone. Lovely." She sits up suddenly, the movement sharp and predatory. "If I might ask a favor, dear Shisou? I'd like the name of one of the known predators with a slightly lesser rank than your household." She admires the glint of light on the hooked blade in her hand for a second, then over at Shious. Her eyes are wide and bright, filled with innocence. "I think I'd like to make a point about how my wife is to be treated."

[Shisou]

"I'm s-s-s--s-s-sure I d-d-d-d-don't kn-kn-know a-a-a-any," he says demurely, while making a few unobtrusive marks on the paper that she'd recognize as Draconic. 

[Varisia Primfana]

"Pity," Varisia pouts, then grins. "And yet solvable!" she adds brightly. The knife has vanished and she claps her hands together. "Indou-san, would you be terribly put out if I were to take my leave now? And him along with me? I feel the sudden desire to... explore the many wonders of the Kami's lake." Which will, for unimportant reasons, require a sinful dress, a vapid smile and a vicious knife or ten."

[GamesMaster]

"With only him for protection? I'm afraid I can't allow it," he says casually. "There's some woman out there killing men, if you can believe it. I'd hate to see you two fall afoul of the likes of her."

[Varisia Primfana]

I wonder if she'd be interested in a job? "I did bring some bodyguards," she replies, amused at his reply. "I haven't brought them with me, but then, I'd hardly need them to visit a promising business partner after all, no?"

[GamesMaster]

"Well then, by all means. Just don't get the boy killed, eh?" he chuckles, as if he's made a funny joke. 

[Shisou]

On the way out, Shisou tries to make conversation, but he's ordered to 'be silent, you make my head hurt'. Still, she does pick up a slate, thrusting it and the chalk at him. "Now you can write to me who this wolf man is."

Shisou hesitates, then writes in Draconic, "my sister's husband." 

[Varisia Primfana]

Varisia slows briefly, then gives him a sidelong look with eyes that are much more thoughtful than before. "Why?" she asks simply.

[Shisou]

A thoughtful pause before he writes, "He treats my sister badly."

[Varisia Primfana]

Varisia hums at that answer, the sound mildly approving. "More fitting to cripple him and let her kill him but..." She shrugs. "I gather she would not take such an opening for some reason?"
