Zevran

"He introduced himself," Zevran says slowly, eyes opening to look at her with concern. "Do... do you not remember that happening?" That is... strange. Even more than it happening in the first place. Getting lost in a slave skin is not all that rare, but I don't really recall meeting someone that doesn't remember what they did as such. Well, aside of repressing trauma. But why would that simple bit of conversation cause such?

Xyrrim... fronted? Spoke to Zevran? That's bad. But... I'm struggling to care. Something has changed. Something massive. Something....

"Oh, right," he says, distracted. "I... I think I'm failing," he adds, quietly. "I think I'm falling apart. I wasn't strong enough, I know that. I think I'm changing. I don't remember why."

Zevran

"No," Zevran says quickly. "You were strong. You survived. I know that doesn't seem like enough. That you feel like you didn't do enough, didn't save enough or prevent enough or-- But you survived. You made it through, you're still alive, still free. And that is enough. Anything else can come from that." He takes her hand in his, squeezing gently. "You are changing, will change. That's normal. Even good. But you're not a failure and you-- Don't let this change the core of you. Don't let this change--" He swallows thickly, leaning down to kiss her forehead, her nose, her lips. "Stay the person who saved me. Stay the person I'm falling for. Stay true to yourself."

Coquette Blacquin

"Me? I'm not the one you want," she murmurs. "Only Bull saw me. You want Cindy, but she's dying. Coquette, I mean. Blast it all, I can't stop talking. I'm the protector. And I couldn't save anyone, in the end. I knew I couldn't. But I had to try. D'ya see?"

Zevran

"Gods yes," Zevran says with a pained note, then refocuses. "Cindy, Xyrrm and... you? Coq-- Whoever you are, what's going on? Please talk to me, tell me how to help."

Coquette Blacquin

"Cedric," he murmurs. "I'm Cedric. I protect everyone from Varisia and Xyrrim and father and everyone who wants to hurt us."

Zevran

"It's... a pleasure to met you?" Zevran offers weakly, trying to not sound as confused and distraught about all this as he is. "What, ah, what do Xyrrim," and why do I know that name?, "and Cindy... do?"

Coquette Blacquin

"He usually just torments all of us," mumbles Cedric. "And Cindy is our heart, our soft spot. She's the one you want. Noire is Varisia's wife and Primera and Segunda's mother. And Bitch is Varisia's plaything. Only I think they're changing. That's why we're dying. We're not strong enough to hold what happened."

Zevran

"I... do think I know Cindy most, yes, but if you're the one that keeps you and yours safe, then I'm rather a fan of you as well. And Noire..." He laughs, just a little nervous. "She did bring me that food and such, so there's that going for her. Xyrrm seems less than pleasant however, and..." He hesitates, not sure how to touch on the subject of Bitch.

Coquette Blacquin

"Bitch hurts," he sighs. "Bitch hurts all the time, because that's what Varisia wants us to be: small and broken and full of so much pain. I try to protect her too but I'm not strong enough."

He sighs again. "I guess.. I guess that's how it ends. I wasn't strong enough. I guess that's how we end."

Zevran

"Why are you... ending?" He hesitates. "And... why did you... start?"

Coquette Blacquin

"S'pose I started 'cause Mother couldn't put off Father's desire for an heir any longer."

Zevran

Zevran nods a little, taking that at nearly face value. "So you've been a part of, ah, Coquette the whole time? Since birth I mean?"

Coquette Blacquin

"I don't know. Do you remember being born?" he wonders. "I suppose not, but I don't remember how I came about."

Zevran

"That is... fair," Zevran allows. "But you-- and the, ah, the others?-- have just... always been in there, with each other?"
