Isabela

Isabela places a hand on his arm gently in comfort. "He was enslaved for many years," she says quietly. "I assume some harm was done to him using those tools."
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Amandine stares openly at Zevran. "I... do not understand how one... It is not in our nature to do harm in such ways."

Zevran

"Mortals are far less kind then," Zevran whispers, resting his own hand on Isabela's. "Personally, I was never-- I was only-- Only healed. But healed so that I might be... used yet again." He swallows, the hand over Isabela's trembling minutely. "But my Ma-- But Danarius had-- had many people working for it that-- That none but a slaver could approve of. Its healer," he snarls the word, "was paid in part by having the right to... use up slaves that had been declared worthless. He considered it artwork."

Isabela

Isabela shudders, as Amandine continues to gape in horror. "That--- that is not--- that is not artwork, and I know a thing or two about artwork!"
"Our mistakes make us who we are"

Zevran

"No, no it is not," Zevran agrees tightly. "He is a monster, pure and simple. A being of flesh, born to this plane, but as evil as any sceleratis. The horrors he created for his own amusement, the experiments done without care or concern for the value of life, for--" He shuts himself down, free hand snapping out to grab the entire remaining brownie blob and shoving it in his mouth.

"He must be captured and brought here -- I must examine him," says Amandine, her voice firm. "Such a deviant form of so-called artwork -- I would study him before I let my Father pass judgement on his soul."

Zevran

Zevran blinks a few times as he painfully forces himself back into the here and now. "I-- okay? Okay, yes. I certainly would not protest if he-- I can write what information I have down if you..?" He gestures at the notebook, the movement less graceful than he normally uses, but still as smooth. And he still has his hand over Isabela's, his grip firm but not tight, tense but no longer trembling.

"Yes, but not in this notebook. One moment." Amandine turns back to the kitchen, digging in a drawer for a moment before a much older -- and much fuller -- notebook is procured. This she offers to Zevran, opening to a fresh page near the back of the book.

Zevran

Zevran obliges, writing carefully and neatly, and even includes a rough but useable sketch of the elven male in question. As he finishes a minute or so later, never once having let go of Isabela's hand, he says stiffly, "be careful please. If you-- if you truly do attempt this, be careful. Alochem is not a dangerous man in regards to his combat prowess, but the thing that he works for has a great deal of power it can bring against those that anger it." He shudders. "I do not truly fear for your divine father, but I know Danaruis has captured powerful outsiders before."

Amandine nods. "I am in no hurry. I simply... it is my calling to understand the arts. All the arts."

Zevran

"Not everything people call art truly is," Zevran says bleakly.

GamesMaster

"Clearly." She sniffs. "Still, I shall investigate. Thank you for bringing this to my attention."

Zevran

"Unintended but not unwelcome," Zevran replies in partial repetition of his previous sentiment. He takes a slow breath, trying to shed enough of this conversation to change topics. "Before I... distracted us, you were speaking of one of your Sisters being a healer or... no, you had said that you think your Father's direct help would be needed, I think?"

GamesMaster

"I would ask to examine the patient before making a final declaration, but yes, it is likely that if there is soul damage my Father's help will be required. Thanks to your help I am willing to second your petition, which will help."

Zevran

"I am deeply grateful," Zevran says softly, then smiles crookedly. "And also very concerned; this is the second time I've had a chance encounter become immensely helpful if not outright vital to our escape and survival. I am... unused to things going well, of being fortunate.
