[Shisou]

"Oh! That. That doesn't matter, really," says Shiori, rubbing the back of her neck in an oddly familiar gesture. "It was a lot to take in all at once, and you weren't... you weren't well, at first. I'm glad you got better, though."

[Zevran]

"It does matter, as it was harm done to one who did not deserved it." He wags his finger at her, then cuddles her close again. "What you do deserve is care and respect and kindness and acceptance."

[Shisou]

"I'm not likely to get much of those once I leave here," she says, with a small sigh, resting her forehead against his shoulder. "I wish I could stay. Why did I agree? No, I know why, I just never dreamed I'd find... this. All this joy."

[Zevran]

"Give it a chance," Zevran says quietly, rubbing her back, carefully not saying anything against the joy she's found here. "Passion and love and joy are... They are not common, gods' pity on us all, but they're there. If you do not object, I would speak with Isabela on this matter. Ah, specifically, your going to Toukami. See if she has contacts there that might be of help. Or contacts here, for that matter; it's possible that there might be some locals or frequent visitors that would be willing to help, be it for pay, faith or adventure."

Shiori nods. "I'll need servants, trusted ones, to help keep the temple and run the household. If anyone wants to move to toukami from the Oak I'd gladly bring them along."

[Zevran]

"Hopefully you can at least get a priest-- or druid, I suppose?-- to come along with you and stay until you've learned the proper rites and prayers and such," Zevran agrees, stifling a yawn. "You certainly need more help than--" He breaks off, struck by a sudden realization. At Shiori's curious, slightly worried, hum, he flashes an apologetic smile. "It just occurred to m; you are pregnant. The necklace."

[Shisou]

Shiori nods. "We bargained for some level of replacement ability, remember? I expect I won't be able to use my spells anymore."

[Zevran]

"No, that's-- well, yes, that, but also; I am unsure, but I vaguely recall hearing... Carbonne-- or perhaps Dau-- explaining that Carbonne requires a wearer to, ah, manifest?" Zevran frowns, brow furrowing as he tries to recall. "Something like that..?"

[Shisou]

"Uh. Xe won't be gone from this plane or anything -- I met xer when xe was a lizard, just an ordinary lizard, but xe didn't get magical powers until I transformed for the first time."

[Zevran]

Zevran smooths down a smile. "So... xe is a lizard once more?" he asks in a carefully neutral tone.

[Shisou]

"I... don't know. Where is xe?"

[Zevran]

"Haven't the faintest," he admits without concern. "Last I saw... Hmm. Two days ago, on the ship?"

[Shisou]

Shioroi pulls back a little. "You lost xem?!"

[Zevran]

"I've been rather more focused on you and Coquette," Zevran objects. "Besides, xe is an adult being; I didn't realize xe needed a minder."

"Xe is less than a foot tall! Xe gets... confused by mortal social norms, and xe isn't-- it's fine. I'll just have to find xem and make sure xe's been eating properly."
