Coquette Blacquin

"It is not my style to ingratiate myself into a family and then murder them. If I wanted you dead, you would be." She shrugs. "Under my orders, he would have snuck into the compound, taken your life, and returned, rather than seeking long-term placement. I do not care for that style."

Zevran

"If it helps any, I much preferred my seduction missions." Zevran gives a thoughtful hum and tilts his head from side to side. "Actually, I should have left it at 'prefer seduction' really. Sex is..." he trails off, head now shaking as he fails to find a word or phrase sufficient. Finally, he just gives a low, hungry, satisfied, rapturous moan that renders not just Claudia a slack jawed, flushed mess but also Lo'Quin and the other attendant as well.

Coquette pats him on the head, taking full advantage of Noire's distaste for the male form to seem unaffected. "Now now, dear, don't be rude. Ask first."

Zevran

"She asked me," Zevran protests coyly, rubbing his head against her hand.

Claudia clears her throat, then gives him a half-hearted glare. "I most certainly did not. Bit of a brat this one, clearly."

Zevran

Zevran smirks, eyebrows waggling suggestively at Coquette's choice of phrasing. Despite this, Claudia manages to wrest her thoughts back on track. "Right, well, as pert as he can be, the pertinent matter is something different. Tell me about your wife."

"Coquette? Hmm." Zevran cocks his head to the side, eyes half closed and a considerate look on his face. "Complex," he finally starts out with. "Caring but cold on the surface. Strong if she must be but gentle, even fragile at her heart. She can be ruthless and stubborn but that's something she's cultivated in order to survive. She doesn't wish to be such, if the world were gentle enough to allow such a wish to grow. Selfless and loyal to her loved family, though that status is one hard earned. Witty and funny, mostly in clever, sharp ways. Beautiful of course. Elegant. Practical. My love has many sides," he concludes with a straight face.

Coquette Blacquin

A touch of blush comes to her cheeks, but she scowls as well. Thanks for that -- making me out to be soft, delicate. She won't take well to it.

Claudia Emerison

"Just like Estelle..." Claudia murmurs to herself in gnomish, then winces for a split second. She studies Zevran for a moment, then says softly, "you love her. Like really love her, for herself."

Despite it clearly not being a question, Zevran nods firmly. "We have not been together long, but yes. There is much in her worthy of love."

"And you?" Claudia asks, looking at Coquette.
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"I certainly have feelings for him. Whether it's true love remains to be seen."

Claudia Emerison

"Don't take too long in looking," Claudia suggests softly, looking down at her book. "So! What kind of expectations do you have here?"
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"Depends what you're able to offer me. I'm willing to earn my keep if I need to."

Claudia Emerison

"I can offer a few different things, what are you hoping for?" Claudia returns firmly, placing Coquette in the position of making the first move.
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"I told you my original hope: you'd welcome me as family."

Claudia Emerison

"Yeah, I get that hope," Claudia says softly, tone regretful. "But that isn't something that can be offered. What's after that on your scale?"

Coquette Blacquin

"Without knowing what's on offer, how can I rank the options?" she asks, regretfully. "If not for Varisia's sake, perhaps there is some slim hope my male or myself may have a familial tie to one of the families here? There is some Drow in my heritage, although not much."
