Zevran

The drow noblewoman jerks upright, springing from her seat. Her hands come up in the beginnings of a casting before she catches herself. Zevran doesn't react anywhere near as much, not doing more than widening his eyes and dipping a hand towards the blanket for a second. "My love, welcome home. Well, such as we have," he corrects himself with a soft laugh. "Ah, where are my manners! Lady Estelle Emerison, may I introduce you to my beloved wife, Coquette Primfana nee Blacquin. Dear heart, this is Lady Estelle, granddaughter to the Matriarch."
Life without Passion is just another form of Slavery.

Coquette Blacquin

"So I gathered," she says, dryly, as she moves around to sit next to Zevran. "I do not recall giving permission to speak with my husband. Is she bothering you? Or do you welcome the company?"

Zevran

"You are my guest, I don't need permission to check in him after-- after last night," Estelle says carefully, hands lowering. "It would speak poorly of me to not finish what I started."

"Lady Estelle gathered me from the hallways this morning and had a healer do what she could before delivering me here," Zevran murmurs softly, resting a hand lightly on Coquette's wrist. "She has been... an entertaining conversationalist."
Life without Passion is just another form of Slavery.

Coquette Blacquin

"I see," says Coquette. "Well then. Which deity do you prefer, Lady Emirison?"

NPCs

Estelle winces a little, then stalls as she retakes her seat. "That is... a rather personal question here in the Enclave," she replies gently. "However, my preferences are not unknown to most and, as I just said, you are my guest and so have the right to know of me. The patron I have chosen is Ciren, though I honor Astea and Alydrea deeply."

Coquette Blacquin

"Ciren ,hmm? Not a bad choice, that one. Astea seems a little childish, though, do you not agree? Perhaps a touch naive."

NPCs

A sad, almost sorrowful, look crosses Estelle's face for a moment before it's replaced by a one of compassion. "No," she says very simply, the word filled with far more faith and certainty than one would expect for a deity unclaimed as one's patron.

Coquette Blacquin

"Very eloquent. I've changed my mind entire," he says dryly. "The world is a cruel place. There's no room for concepts like love. Only holding fast to what you can as everything changes around you."

NPCs

Estelle raises an eyebrow. "I had thought you claimed to love your husband?" she asks pointedly, glancing at Zevran.

Coquette Blacquin

"Of course. I am fond of him. I will fight to protect him. That is all mortals are capable of, and that even rarely. Mortals do not love truly and deeply as Astea preaches."

NPCs

"All the more reason to keep trying," Estelle offers. "Very little that is worthwhile is easy."

Coquette Blacquin

"The likes of mortals were not built for it, any more than a fish was built to fly."

Zevran

"I can make a fish fly with six words and a tuft of feathers."

Zevran coughs softly. "Aren't there fish called flying fish?" he asks, trying to recall.

Coquette Blacquin

"If you know the right incantation to start a cold heart's fire, then you are wiser than I by far."

NPCs

Estelle winces, casting her gaze off to the side briefly. "Only an illusion of such," she replies quietly afterwards. "That is a magic well beyond my skill... as I suspect you were aware."
