"Well fuck that." Tsuki's voice startles even herself with how tight and angry it is. "They already got their son, why make you go through it again?"

"I also do not understand but more in that--" Jass shakes his head, lips in a scowl. "A well-educated or trained or skilled woman can be a mother the same as a slave. More so in many cases, as the healthier the mother, in mind as well as body, the better odds the child will be healthy as well."

"There are governesses and tutors for raising the child," replies Seiya, sipping her tea -- which she is gripping rather tightly. 

[Jassinth]

"And then you need two people to what one could do."

"I was not raised a Wolf. They have every right to educate their offspring in the way they find most beneficial to the family."

"Counter point; your child, you have rights too. Also your body," Jass replies, tone crisp and righteous.

"My body belongs to my husband," whispers Seiya, tears pricking her eyes.

"That's bullshit," Jassinth growls, hands flexing at his sides. 

[Shisou]

"Seiya, is your husband... like our stepfather was?" asks Shiori, kindly. Seiya gives a small nod, wiping tears from her eyes. 

"I hate it here," she whispers. "I wish I could go home. I wish I had sworn vows rather than get married. Don't do it if you can avoid it."

[Jassinth]

"I... suspect that divorce is not a common or easy process here?"

[GamesMaster]

"Divorce?" asks Tsuki. 

"Leaving your husband and returning to your family of origin," replies Shiori. "It is uncommon to the point of being nearly impossible among the gentry of Toukami, though peasants are allowed."

Seiya sighs, sipping her tea as she tries to regain her composure. "No. Such a thing would not be permitted."

[Jassinth]

"That is... concerning," Jass says, moderating himself at the last second as he realizes just how worked up he's getting. "My apologies for being so, ah, intense perhaps? This has touched a nerve."

[Shisou]

Shiori puts a hand out, placing it on Jass's knee. "It's understandable. But, on the bright side, Tsuki has an... opportunity, let's say, that is an alternative to marriage."

"Take it," says Seiya instantly. 

"You don't even know what it is," Tsuki grumbles. "It's risky. Real risky."

"So is marriage."

"How much... influence or prestige or... what not would be required to, hmm, suggest that the Tiger family be decidedly more respectful, if not caring, in their treatment of your sister?"
