Coquette Blacquin

"Only if I may have the pleasure of knowing what we're celebrating," she says, forcing a smile onto her face.

Paerle Emerison

Paerle twists her hand over her mouth, a local gesture that more or less means, 'I've been babbling or spouting nonsense, please excuse me.' Taking a quick breath, she nods. "Yes, of course. I've just mastered the fourth tier of Shamanic summoning!" Her grin takes a rueful air as she admits, "after my third attempt today, I must confess, but still, I've been working towards this for most of the year now. I've cast at least a dozen other Fourth Circle spells and I'm at least halfway to mastering my first of the Fifth, but I just couldn't get Nature's Ally to fucking work." She nearly growls that last bit, looking remarkably fierce despite the grin that won't leave her face. She laughs briefly, a dark, satisficed laugh. "Managing to get the successful summon to snap the spine of the previous feral summon made it even better. Stupid weird dire pig."
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

"Oh!" She seems startled; upon a moment's reflection, she realizes she was braced for some game, some little dig or twist at her. To have someone honestly just want to spend time in her company is... new. Different. Exciting.

"Well then, that calls for a drink for certain. I'd be happy to accompany you." She gives a genuine smile, tucking some hair behind her ear. "Forgive me if I seem distracted, I've just come from my lessons and my head's full of old Drow Protocol."

Paerle Emerison

"Oh my yes, that would do it," Paerle replies with a sympathetic grimace. "Old man Widdy knows his history and such for certain and isn't a bad teacher but still..."
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

"Oh, actually the Matriarch's pet tiefling offered to teach me. Which is exhausting in its own way."

Paerle Emerison

Paerle's eyes widen and she gives Coquette a discrete head-to-toe scan. "Is that so?" she remarks, sounding intrigued. "Grandmother is not often amenable to loaning Tenachka out for such things. Or at all, really. Remarkable." And it appears that you've not recently been fucked either. More remarkable still.
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

Noire smirks. "Well, I'm something of a.... special case."

Paerle Emerison

Paerle laughs, a rich, throaty sound that lacks the sultriness she often bundles into it. "Oh, is that so, sister-electi?"
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

"Of course." She places a hand on her belly, as if to signify that the babes she carries are the important part. "In any event, all I meant was that tonight was taxing. Well, as though any of my days weren't," she adds, laughing at herself a little.

Paerle Emerison

Unlocking-- then unwarding-- her door, Paerle steps inside her room. "I'm home, with a guest," she calls out, looking around the room. It's actually rather cozy looking; the stone walls are covered with tapestries depicting the stars and storms, there are two sofas big enough for two or three people, a small table with one chair next to it and a fur rug across the center of the floor.  "Come on in," she adds to Coquette. "Sit, I'll grab that wine and chocolate. If you see a scorpion, that's my familiar Luvia. Don't crowd or pester him and she'll probably just stare at you for your first visit. She likes to take her time before interreacting with new people."
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

A scorpion. How fitting. No, stop it. Coquette smiles, taking a seat. "Alright, then. I'm more fond of cats myself."

Paerle Emerison

"Like your... Justina, was it? I recall hearing about her adventure the week before last, when she managed to get all the way to the leather crafters," Paerle calls from a room over, amusement clear in her voice.
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

"Oh yes, she's a sly one, that Justinia."

Paerle Emerison

"I approve!" There's a brief pause, then Paerle returns not just with a tray of snacks and wine, but also wearing a thin but full coverage silk robe. "My Luvia is rather too stoic to be sly, but she has a patient sort of willfulness."
Oh you poor thing! Maybe I can help?

Coquette Blacquin

"Reminds me a little of my wife." A dark expression crosses her face for a second before she schools it.
