Coquette Blacquin

"But, for now, I do believe you. I think... It is clear that tiefling woman is up to no good."

Claudia Emerison

There's a sofa gasp from the sofa, then Claudia wiggles around to look at Coquette. "R-Really? You do?" she asks with such stunned relief it's almost painful to hear.
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"Tenachka bears me no good will," she says slowly. "While I had assumed she had convinced you to partake... perhaps there is some other trick at work here."

Claudia Emerison

"She's a wizard or sorcerer of some kind," Claudia whispers. "She never shares anything about her abilities, but I've seen her cast powerful illusions and do a smattering of small spells, cantrips and First Circle for sure." Swallowing, trembling, she adds, "there are rumors she can read thoughts and control minds."
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

Coquette nods. "She is skilled with theoretical magics and cutting-edge effects, she is... I would not put it past her."

Claudia Emerison

Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"I don't know," she says quietly. "I don't... handle it well when I'm cheated on."

Claudia Emerison

Claudia flinches, looking heartsick, but she doesn't protest. I need-- I need to find a way to prevent-- prevent anything like... like that. "So... what now?" she asks quietly.
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Coquette Blacquin

"Now we wait for Estelle to get back and check you over for signs of... anything."

Claudia Emerison

Claudia nods, looking scared but also somewhat relieved. She's giving me a chance. It's not over. Again. Please... Bright gods, any gods, please... don't-- don't have-- Please.
Someday I'll prove that intellect and creativity can match magic. Then maybe I'll have also proven...

Estelle Emerison

It's a long, tense forty or so minutes before Estelle's voice is heard from the front room. along with Zevran's. They seem to be in mid conversation, something about what each of them suspect the merchant's... assistant? Scribe? Partner? was thinking. Zevran seems to be putting forth a rather elaborate theory involving the scribe, it's scribe evidently, having some greedy lover who he's driven to take risks for in order to pamper them as they demand.

Coquette Blacquin

Coquette is up in a flash, opening the door and giving Zevran a meaningful glance -- something like 'help me' with just her eyes. She smiles at Estelle, ushering them in. "Welcome home. There's a bit of a problem, actually... if you have a moment?"

Zevran

"Of course, my love, of course." Zevran pivots smoothly from his path towards her instead, coming to a stop just before her. "How might I serve?"

Coquette Blacquin

"Oh, actually, it was Estelle I needed. Unless you've hidden a talent for magic from me, husband?" she teases, eyes still worried.

Estelle Emerison

"Magic?" Estelle asks, a bit shocked at Coquette asking for her help but certainly willing. "What seems to be the problem?"
