Coquette Blacquin

A bit of her wariness sneaks to the surface. ~Where would you send me?~

NPCs

~Well, for one, I can't just send you anywhere,~ Seli answers gently. ~Repressed memories and... the other signs you've shown aren't an immediate danger to you or others. Even if you did show such a sign, based on what I know about your living situation, I would be more inclined to have a caretaker stationed with you instead of institutionalization. However, if that was the best course for your well being, then I would likely recommend Summer Hill, a facility here in Nyra founded and run by Lord Sage zi'Smith, known as the Doctor.~

~They're... not? But I'm not... I'm not well.~

NPCs

~I know,~ Seli confirms, tone soothing and kind. ~But we don't imprison someone for having a fever, do we? If they have some highly contagious disease or something that makes them violent, then yes, we might contain them until they're better. But that's not the case for you. You need help, healing, not confinement.~

~Help,~ comes a bitter snort. A moment later, a sensation of a deep breath. ~What does... help.. look like?~

NPCs

~Well, to build off the fever analogy, help first looks like an examination,~ the Joyous explains, the sending coming with deliberation and sincerity. ~Treating injuries of the mind is a very tricky thing, as the healer can't simply see the wounds and scars with their eyes. Much of the examination comes in the form of, well, what we've been doing really, but with a new focus. And more openness and honesty from you.~

NPCs

~In exchange for..? My helping you, I suppose?~

Coquette Blacquin

~But, what do I stand to gain from your help? What does it look like?~

NPCs

~Oh! I understand now, sorry. Well, that's hard to say right now. It depends on what the issue or issues are. In the broadest sense, a full 'cure' is unlikely simply because mental and emotional issues are so often bound up in a person's being. Trauma based issues are most likely to be cured, though 'scars' are common. And of course, if the issue is the result of a physical injury or illness, that can very often corrected.~

Coquette Blacquin

~...what if I don't want to be fixed?~

NPCs

~As long as you're not in serious danger, nor a danger to others, then I'd support that decision entirely. I'd wish to offer what support I can; help with minimalizing any downsides, helping you learn coping strategies and the like, I'd work with you to figure that all out.~

Coquette Blacquin

~you'd... leave me like this? Knowing... knowing I'm... broken? You'd let me go on this way? As... as if! There's no way. This is a trap. If I tell you how broken we are, you'll just have me locked away or worse!~

NPCs

There's a pause, a good ten seconds or so. ~We?~ Seli repeats gently.

Coquette Blacquin

~I-- I meant me. Of course I did. Who else would I have meant?~
