[Shiori]

"Yes, she had a snake seal on the envelope."

[Jassinth]

"Good, good. Ah, let me see..." Jass tilted his head back, thinking hard on the matter. Then his face paled and he started swallowing repeatedly. "Ah, I--" Swallow. "I will think on--" Swallow. "Talk to you tonight!"

[Shiori]

"Jass?" asked Shiori, concerned. 

[Jassinth]

"Stomach," he explained with a wince, then quickly walked to the small bathroom his room boasts as being that of a high-ish ranked servant.

[Shiori]

"Ah." A pause. "Have I mentioned how grateful I am?"

[Jassinth]

Jass flashed a thumbs up at her as he ducked out of sight. There were a few unpleasant noises, then a weak, "love you."

[Shiori]

Shiori smiled kindly. "Love you too."

[Jassinth]

"I'll look," a bit of wheezing, "into her more. Accept invite."

[NPCs]

And so accept the invite she did, which lead her to having a lunch date that very Aquaday. Unfortunately, it's only Morsday when Shiori finds herself faced with her beloved husband's chamberlain. 

"My lady, I have heard a worrisome rumor," the handsome, charming vishkanya exclaims after he greeted her. "A little bird told me that, due to some miscommunication I'm sure, you have an outing planned for tomorrow that we've not discussed?"

[Shiori]

"Do I?" she asked, looking faintly surprised. "Oh, I suppose so -- that little teatime. Surely there's no harm in taking tea with whichever ladies I please?"

[NPCs]

He bowed smoothly, every inch the proper employee. After all, he's not a servant, of course; he's a member of the branch family and so basically equal in rank to Shiori, aside from their roles. "Naturally," he replied as he straightened up. "However, given the recentness of your arrival, our Lord wishes to ensure you are properly prepared to represent our illustrious family."

[Shiori]

"I would be happy to meet with him, but rest assured, I was raised to nobility and I understand my place."

[NPCs]

"Oh dear, there seems to be a slight misunderstanding," Chamberlain Dniss proclaimed, pressing a hand to his chest. "Our dear Lord is far too, ahem, busy to worry himself over such pedestrian matters. No, such falls to me."

[Shiori]

"If it is such a pedestrian matter, surely then there is no need to go to such trouble?"

[NPCs]

"Alas, some of the more important things in life are, sadly, unexciting and mundane."
