Shiori absently reached over and took the cream off Dreamy's face with her thumb. "There, got it for you," she said, offering the cream for the fox to lick off her finger. 

[NPCs]

Dreamy slorped up the cream eagerly, even as she asked, "how ever did that get there? Maybe pixies?" She chuffed with pleasure as she got the very last hint of sweet, then slumps her head down on the table. "^{Good for foxes.}"

"Howdidyou meet D-Dreamy?"

[Shiori]

"There is a technique Raplin's druids are taught that can form a bond between an animal and a mortal. I needed her help, and so, we formed a bond."

[NPCs]

"So. Much. Help." Dreamy confirmed with a very somber nod. "She doesn't even know how to groom a tail properly yet. But she's getting close!" she added, patting Shiori with her tails. 

[Shiori]

"I am fortunate to have learned much from my companion," she affirmed. 

[NPCs]

"A most commendable effort, I am sure," Manu answered gravely, her voice nearly masking Emori's murmured 'so soft.'

[Shiori]

"It was no hardship. Dreamy is a delight to learn from."

[NPCs]

"Soooooo hard," Dreamy agreed with the air of a patient but tired teacher. "She's good for not fox," she added, not wanting anyone to think less of her strange kit.

"What sort of things are you learning, I wonder?" Manu has a rather unusual manner of speaking, not just in syntax and word choice but also her inflection. Not enough to come off alien or be off-putting, but it was still noticeable and strange.

[Shiori]

"It's always instructive to understand how another, alien mind thinks. It can help one think outside the box, be more creative, and produce better art. I am learning a lot about how vulpine society works, and how different it is than our society."

[NPCs]

"Art?" That actually came from Emiko directly.

[Shiori]

"I'm not very good yet but I've been dabbling in painting."

[NPCs]

"A painter? I dabble a bit myself," Manu commented, a very slight narrowing of her eyes contrasting with her continued pleasant, easy tone. "What style do you prefer? And have you selected a particular medium as yet?"

[Shiori]

"I've always admired impressionistic watercolors."

[NPCs]

"Oh? Would that be classical Sovereignty, Mentarsi impressionist or Joyous Water's new reformation?"

[Shiori]

"I studied in Alessa under a student of Joyous Waters, but she had some new techniques as well."
