Emiko's eyes widen, having clearly not expected the conversation to go this direction, then widen more as Shiori continues. "W-w-wives?" she squeaked.

[Shiori]

"Yes, I... this was before my form was magically changed to that of a woman. When I was wed, I was male."

[NPCs]

"W-W-When you were m-m-" Emiko's eyes have widened even more, to the point were even a commoner would easily read her surprise. A blush followed swiftly after and she ducked her head so her face was covered by her bangs of tightly coiled copper ringlets. 

"Beauty ssuits you?!" The words were blurted out, a random thought plucked from her confusion then tossed out without filtering to prevent an awkward silence.

[Shiori]

Shiori smiles. "My God's Daughter did an excellent job crafting this form. It was the only way to undo a horrible magical effect on me."

[NPCs]

"...you have a storied past," Emiko mumbled after a moment to collect herself.

[Shiori]

She made a face. "Unfortunately. What about you?"

[NPCs]

"Me?" Emiko lifted her teacup to half hide her face. "I'm affraid my life is mmuch more boring," she demurred. 

[Shiori]

"surely you must have done something interesting lately."

[NPCs]

Emiko shook her head a little. "I've always bbeen the quiet sort," she replied. "I'm not'a'tall special."

"Perhaps not bardically," Manu cut in smoothly. The eidolon had wrapped herself around Dreamy, pinning the kitsune in place as she used her fins to tickle away. "But even a quiet life holds both value and joys."

[GamesMaster]

"What is your favorite Kabuki?" asks Shiori, probing for even some normal information. 

[NPCs]

"Kanjinchō," Emiko answered without hesitation. "Togashi and Benkei's friendship is sshort but so sstrong and... And the dances are stunning," she added quickly. "Yuan Zhou is masterful at playing the shamisen and speaks with great passsion. Ah, he plays Benkei."

[GamesMaster]

"Oh, I think I saw him play for Fuji Musume, back before I left. I was impressed."

[NPCs]

"Really! Fuji Masume was his first show in a mmajor role. You're lucky to have been wwitness to that."

[Shiori]

"I mean, I was there to watch Ika Kagoya act and dance, but he was surprisingly talented even then."
