The Duke's Bride

"I have no living god just the memory of one long dead. But I can give you this." I press a small talile into his hand and nod "that will protect you from all hostile Magic's of heaven hell and earth"

[Judge Harrod Blacquin]

"So doubtful of your ability, Duke Roidmet?" Harrod asks mildly, having evidently fucking ghosted his way over as well. Stealthy fuck for a servant. 

[Lance Roidmet]

"We both know how God judges you," he snorts. "Any deity is welcome to bless me in my righteous cause."

"I am far more worried of your lack of honor magician than his skill."

[Judge Harrod Blacquin]

"I fear no judgement, be it of man or more," Harrod replies evenly. "But if you are going to insist on, shall we say, invoking blessings..." He spreads his hands in a 'what can you do?' sort of way. "So be it."

"It is a fool who does not fear the evils of man"

[Lance Roidmet]

Lance strings the talisman around his neck, nodding. "I should hope since you're bothering me, the equipment is here?"

[Judge Harrod Blacquin]

"On the contrary, to both; it is a fool who fears anything. Caution and respect of danger are worthy of cultivating but fear kills the mind and quiets reason." He turns his eyes towards Lance then. "As for you, no. I had come to speak with the rabbi here but it seems it was already to late to hope to have this contest without outside interference." He doesn't say 'cheating' but it's clear anyway.

[Lance Roidmet]

"If you try nothing, there will be no interference."

[Hanza koshack]

"Unlike you I am a man of honor as a rabi I would never cheat. A gift of the Talie is customary before such challenges. I have a second should you want one...." I say calmly

[Judge Harrod Blacquin]

"I would be honored," Harrod says without batting an eye.

I reach into my pocket pulling out a small wooden taliel carved in the shape of a hand with an eye in the center. "May you do your family proud." I say giving the traditional blessing

[Judge Harrod Blacquin]

"That seems unlikely regardless of my actions," Harrod says dryly, taking the amulet with a gloved hand. He glances at it briefly, hums, then nods to them both. "I shall await you at the gate, Duke Roidmet."

"Best luck my friend we'll be watching you." I smile with a wink

[Lance Roidmet]

Lance waits a moment, watching Harrod go, then he follows after. time to get that bow checked over. Just in case.
