I nod in understanding "fair enough but it looks like you could use some friends" I say gently with a small smile "besides Eliana is a good women she won't let you stay in danger "

"E-even though I'm n-not....?" asks Carol, through teary eyes. "There's s-something wrong with me, I'm not... I'm not like other girls."

I sigh gently "my nights a wearwolf, Garret is a half demon, no one knows what my husband to be is, my surraget was a sucubus and passed her magic on to me, and Tova is a witch and midwife who used to be a hooker and assassin I think it's safe to say none of us are typical. What ever you've done what Evers been done to you what ever you are you disservice to be safe and happy and if I can give you a path to a happy safe future then I will do everything I can to do so."

Carol hangs her head, wiping at the tears. "Okay," she whispers. "Let's get out of here, then. Should I pack a. bag or?"

[Countess Elaina Moorwood]

"I'll send Tova to you tonight we will leave at midnight. She will help you take the few things you need and we will replace what can't be brought. I need to go now as I don't want to give 5he appearance that somethings wrong. Don't worry we will be long gone by sunrise" I say standing

"Alright," says Carol softly. I hope Beth is alright. I hope he doesn't come to me tonight asking for favors. The night before his wedding night? He wouldnt' dare... would he?

[Countess Elaina Moorwood]

I return to my courtiers and find Lance in our room. "We need to leave here at midnight. He's abusing his France and her sister. They want to leave here and I'm going to get them to safety. You can be angry with me later but right now we need to get ready. A letter will come in an hour detailing a crisis at home that we will need to leave to attend to you and I will go imidatly leaving Garret and Tova and wild you collect our things and leave later " I say in a rush.

[Lance Roidmet]

Lance stares at her for a moment, assessing the situation. Then he sighs. "Land's sakes, can you avoid causing a ruckus on just one occasion?" he grumbles. 

[Countess Elaina Moorwood]

"If I could I would but I can't so I don't fight it." I say grinning

[Lance Roidmet]

"This might mean a war. You owe me, woman," he growls.

[Countess Elaina Moorwood]

"I know but it's not worth three lives lost to prevent one" I say solemnly

[Lance Roidmet]

"Three lives against our whole duchy?" he asks, raising an eyebrow. 

[Countess Elaina Moorwood]

"Lance, we may only have one official night but I have many allies who will stand with us. Garrets mercenary troops, my families knights, and all of the yadvashem will stand with us. I'm making a run for the crown lance I planned for a war. And besides Galen is far more likely to settle things one on one. I might just be able to bribe him into dropping it, the greedy git, worse case is a duel which by the state of him I could easil6 win." I say taking a breath. "I don't gamble when I'm not certain I can at least break even our people will be ok."

"Has it occurred to you I don't want any of my people dying in a pissing match between nobles?"

"Yes lance it has! I'm not some frivolous child throwing away the lives of the peasantry Willynilly! I am taking a calculated risk to save lives! Am I nieve enough to believe that this isn't dangerous? NO! While you have been hiding away for six years I have been studying to be queen because uncle knew I would be his successor. I know what I'm doing and if you don't like it three months you can file for divorce and I'll give it you! But right now I am taking a risk to save two CHILDREN Lance. Two girls the same age as your sister would be now who are afraid for their lives! Two children who are being abused and manipulated and who's mother is being tortured in a sanitarium to keep them inline. If that's not worth a fight then I don't know what is!"
