[Reaper]

"Kor..... kor you need to get up." I say gently.

He's just so.... small. He has this bravado with his sword but now he's crumpled on the floor.

He's so yong I think he's probably never seen anything like this

"Kor!" I shout pulling him out into the hall and into an empty room out of the way. "Kor snap out of it!"

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

Kor shakes his head, his voice quivering. "I-- they-- they just killed...." He can't wrap his head around how many people just died in front of him. 

[Reaper]

It hits me. He knew someone there. We all did. But this was his first big federation loss and we'd all seen this before. This was all part of the job for us but not Kor.

"I'm so sorry Kor..... Who did you lose?" I ask sitting down on the floor

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"I... I knew a guy. He was gonna get me a job. We just talked last night. And now we'll never talk again. And... and nobody else knows. The whole forum thinks he's just, at work or asleep or something, but he's dead and-- was it quick?" he asks, eyes shining with tears as he looks up at Reaper. "Did he suffer?"

[Reaper]

Did he suffer? Of curse he did.... it's the federation! They would have walked through brayla beating people and pillaging anything of use befor sealing all the exits and blasting it to pieces. His friend would have felt the heat of the fires before the air was ripped from his lungs. But I can't tell him this.

"No Kor they execute every before they blow it up. He was probably gone long before we got here but it would have been quick and painless." I lie

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

Kor takes a deep breath, and then another. He closes his eyes, letting out a low keening noise, then picks himself up, standing up straight.

"...Reaper... I know I'm young. But I'm not a child. Don't lie to me again."

[Reaper]

I smile gently at him

"I won't. You get one curtesy lie and that's it" I tease gently "come on Rockets waiting for us" I say getting to my feet

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"I had to kill for the first time three days ago," he says softly. "I don't... I'm still wrapping my head around it. And you live like this? All the time?"

[Reaper]

"Kor... I'm a soilder I got used to this long ago. But kor we don't kill for no reason. We follow the rule of three. They get three shot, three stamps to flee if we can't run then and only then do we fight but only to get away. We're retired. We don't kill any more. We aren't at WAR kor we want peace. We were promised peace but we can't find it here. That's why we're going to the capa quadrebt. Out there maybe we will find some peace."

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"How can you have peace as outlaws?"

[Reaper]

"Because we're not outlaws Kor. We follow their rules. Live by their laws. We're not outlaws kor we're refugees!"

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"You're going to a lawless place to become, I don't know, pirates! How is that lawful?!"

[Reaper]

"What are you talking about?! Just because there's no federation doesn't mean there aren't laws! They have laws and we'll have to learn them when we get there. But we will find honest work. No ones plan is to be a pirate. We're a cargo ship we ship cargo. As for the run we're on we will pay off the worth of the cargo plus what it will cost someone else to ship it. It's commen practice happens all the time."

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"I told you not to lie to me," he growls. "I can't ever go home again, and my one shot at getting another job just died, so I'm fucking stuck with you until we get wherever you're taking me."

[Reaper]

"No ones making you come along kor and no one is lying. The federation doesn't make all the laws of the world kor grow up!" I say moving towards the door
