"Harmful?"

[Doctor jones]

"It's been linked to calcium deficiency which leads to brittle bones, as well as things like liver and kidney failure, heart disease, cancer, ulcers, and death. Which reminds me I'm also giving you vitim D and calcium tablets you bone density was low when you came in yesterday for your ankle."

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"Oh! Um... okay."

[Doctor jones]

"Here you go" I say handing over the pills and their instructions "anything else you need?"

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

Kor tucks the various pill bottles into his satchel. "Um.. I don't think so. Unless there's anything else I ought to be on as a mutant?"

[Doctor jones]

"The only thing I can think of are for older mutants but I'll reach out to a friend who's a specialist if your ok with that. I'll only share what you're comfortable with."

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"Yeah, I'd appreciate that. You hear things, you know. About... people dying young." And horrifically. Total organ failure. Spontaneously bleeding out of every orifice one day. Sneezing out your brain. I guess that's why fertility is so low among mutants and humans. 

[Doctor jones]

I nod solemnly "I let you know when I know anything."

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"Thanks." Kor bows, and heads back to his bunk.

Captains log.

We've started work on haven colany. We will be here for a week as we add the pods on and make hybrid modifications. We've set up three hydroponics bays, a fiber room for the growing, spinning, dying, and weaving, a school house split for early middle and teen and adult classes.  There's also an updated training room and a proper forge for up keep on weapons tools and so we can start making our own parts if need be.

We've also added living spaces. More apartments and community spaces. As well as expanding the kitchen and mess.  We've even added a nursery unit for any children we have.

The applications aren't even finished yet and already I've started receiving inquiries. I honestly thought it would take longer. I guess folks just want to travel. Still I'll have to be extra careful now. I didn't want to let on at the meeting but I'm worried about bounty hunters. As far as I know the only way into federation space is around the blockade through the delta quadrent and that journey is nearly a year long, but the corse on the bounty ship was set for two weeks so theirs either a small port in and out or a hyper link somewhere. I don't want my family getting hurt.

Still were here for five more days May as well make the best of it. I've given everyone free run to come and go so long as their back for their shifts. However standard rules apply. No one goes alone everyone needs at least one other person with them preferably two or more.

Kor drifts into the weaving and fibers room, looking over the equipment jumbled up and sighing. He rolls up his sleeves, and starts moving looms, tables, machines. Soon enough, there are a small group of men helping move things, and Kor dictates where each piece should go, how to organize the materials, where to put the heap of raw wool they had purchased along with the materials. 

Within another hour, he's teaching two of the men how to use a drop spindle, while supervising the third assembling the large loom. 

[Kira]

 I smile as I walk around the ship. I can feel joy coming from one of the pods and go poking around until I find the source. When I poke my head in I find a weaving room and a few men spinning and weaving. "Hello" I say gently stepping in "I'm Kira! I'm Tovas replacement. We'll be overlapping until we reach home world. Is there anything I can do to help?"

[Kuronue "Kor" Higurashi]

"Oh," says Kor, having quite forgotten about Tova's changing out. "Well ,welcome. Do you-- have you ever weaved before?"

[Kira]

"I do indeed. I'm a wool walker at home. "
