"I'll be over with Dixon if you need me." I say walking away

[Toby]

"Do you really want to leave?" I ask nurvesly

[Jamie D'vart]

"Yes." He shrugs. "You lured me here under false pretenses and scared the shit out of me."

[Toby]

"I thought I made it clear....I'm sorry. I didn't mean to loud or scare you. I'm so sorry. Can we... start over?"

[Jamie D'vart]

"I... I don't know. I know what you are now. And you know what I am."

[Toby]

"So we start on even footing. Look tomorrow is out last day in the woods I'd like to take you on a date.... A proper one. A picnic if that ok?" I haven't been this nurves since I was a teenager asking my first boy out. I really hope he says yes...

[Jamie D'vart]

"...is the picnic secretly a coven initiation where you steal my firstborn?"

[Toby]

I laugh deep and rumbling "no it's a picnic with a blanket and a basket and two boyfriends getting to know each other better by a picturesque river in the woods" I smile

[Jamie D'vart]

"...okay. That sounds... that sounds nice." After a brief pause he adds, "And I still have to paint you..."

[Toby]

"Ok." I smile "I'll help you bring your paints out there then it's a bit of a hike to the best spot." I hesitate a moment "can I kiss you?" I ask softly he smells so good right now I just want to feel him to know he's there and that for now he's not. Going anywhere. It never crossed my mind that he might ever leave

[Jamie D'vart]

"...not right now. Maybe on the picnic."

[Toby]

My heart drops I've really fucked up "ok" I say smiling gently but it doesn't reach my eyes how close am I to driving my first mate away for ever? Does he already hate me? Dose he want to leave me forever after only a week?

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie reaches out and takes his hand after a moment. "I'm going to make some food. Hungry?"

[Toby]

"That'll mark Mala very happy." I say smiling gently "I'll be with the kids if you want me." I say heading to where my kids are playing

[Toby]

It's a long quite hike but after an hour we've reached the ash grove with a small waterfall and pool in the middle of the clearing. I lay the blanket out and start setting out the picnic as Jamie sets up his paints. It's quite but comfortable this is where dixion and I come to talk pack business out it's a sacred place for us and our pack. It's where we turn new members and where pups are born. It's where we scatter the ashes of our dead. It's where weddings and coming of ages and funerals are held. It's where my alpha is buried and where I will be buried.
