Tobys cabin

[Acutis D'Vart]

There was a rummaging sound before a voice, crisp and friendly comes through the phone. "Oh...huh. I didn't think anyone was going to be on fire today. What's wrong, Sophia?" She suddenly sounded concerned. There was also...harp music somewhere in the background?

And that's how a somewhat whiry, redheaded man was currently in Toby's line with a car battery, chains, padlock, jumper cables, and a nail gun. He whistled a small tune as he waited in line for his cart and let two people in before him while he was looking at a couple of magazines on the wrack by the register. He also smelt slightly of cloves, which was odd considering he looked like he was on vacation with the light lavender Hawaiian shirt and sandals.

[Toby]

I nod as the final customer leaves. "Jamie's father I presume." I say. He looks like Jamie smells like him too

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Ah, That DOES make things a little easier." The man gave a bit of a nod. "Nice to meet you, by the way. Little surprised that you'd be in a hardware store, tho. Mostly to pass the time?"

[Toby]

"It's my store. I'm guessing Sophia called you. Did she mention he took the bite and has willingly joined my pack? Or that she tried to tourture him by sending him away agents his will? Or that her boyfriend is droning her?" I ask calmly

[Acutis D'Vart]

That...got a bit of a blink. "...huh, I actually can't tell if you're joking about the last one. Probably why I keep avoiding meeting Steve." He scratched his chin a second. "I should probably talk to Jamie, tho. Hear it from him and all that. Hopefully you won't mind. I'd rather just talk about it than all the other ways this could go."

[Toby]

"He's with Tova right now working on homework store closes in an hour if you don't mind waiting I can give you a ride over." I say helpfully "though it's been a while since basic training and I'm always willing to test my resolve if you still want to party," I tease laughing at his face "that was a joke."

[Acutis D'Vart]

Acutis gets a slightly far off look for a moment before focusing back on Toby. "That's...probably not a good idea. Not that I don't see the appeal, but Jamie probably doesn't wanna see either of us bloody...plus it's hard to drive with one hand." He does frown a little. "Kinda surprised you didn't react to the jumper cables, tho. Still not sure why I picked those up since I have a pair already."

[Toby]

"I did black ops for 30 years, nothing surprises me anymore I've seen it all by now." I say sadly "it's a good kid you got there. Haven't met the others yet but Jamie's a good one. He's... well you already know he's your boy." I smile chuckling.

My phone buzzes and I take a look
"You're in luck my kids been sick, so I'm closing now come on I'll give you a ride Jamie's at my place."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"All my kids are great, just some have a harder time fitting in." He definitely sounds like he believes that...or some version of it. "And I'll follow if ya don't mind." Acutis holds a hand up. "Again, not a personal thing, just I keep hearing that driving with me can be a bit off-putting. Least not till we can all talk and get through introductions and the like."

Acutis took out a small cell phone and checked it. "..hmm. that and I think I'll have to update Sophia so she doesn't actually try to mount a rescue." He looked back at Toby. "What DID you say to her, anyway? Usually she only gets that worked up if she thinks I was planning a surprise visit."

[Toby]

"The truth. I told her the truth and a bit too bluntly I'll admit. She didn't like the fact that he's my mate and he's taken the bite." I finish closing up shop and we head out

"Mala jamie we've got company!" I shout as we come in the door.

[Acutis D'Vart]

Acutis made a face at that before following. He DID remember to message Sophia to make sure she knew he'd gotten there, that no, nothing was on fire and he was going to check up on Jamie. Which...might not have helped since he sounded like he was just making sure he was alright and not in a fury at the Indignation of all this, but that wasn't off the table.

He followed Toby in a bright orange, slightly beat-up Jeep that Jamie would probably recognize on sight. "...so was the Black Ops thing before or after the whole wolf thing?" He says as he leaves his vehicle

[Toby]

"I'm natural born so black ops came after." I smile "Jamie your dads here" I shout out agin my sun coming in

"Daddy Rosie ate to many sweets again and we had to leave mels party!" Echo pouts as I scoop him up

"Mala told me sorry kiddo "

[Jamie D'vart]

Jamie slips into the room in a hoodie and jeans, freezing when he sees who is behind Toby. "Dad!" he squawks. 

[Toby]

"I'll let you two chat. Come on echo let's go play" I say leaving them to talk "mala make another plate for tonight will you?" I shout exiting the room

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Huh. Figured that kinda thing wasn't too common " Acutis smiled when he heard Jamie. "Hey there! Hope I'm not interrupting anything too big." He gave a fairly.large grin as he headed towards Jamie. "Definitely gotten taller since last time."
