"That can happen. Nature's are more fae than you can be normally and will strive to survive and thrive in the fastest way possible." They also can be a right pain if you're starved and can be rather violent depending on the situation, but none of that is going to help Jamie right now.

[Jamie D'vart]

"How can you just be calm about this?! I tortured a woman to death!"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Because it could be much worse." Acutis sighed. "Look. I know you are a good kid. You've always tried to be. So your Nature will be something...less so. I'm never going to hate you or be horrified by you, even IF I don't think you should be torturing anyone. So...the best I can give you is accepting that it happened and helping you not do it again."

"Please," he whispers. "How do I  never do it again?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Well, firstly, we need to make sure you're not starving before you feed off anyone. Also, balancing this out with strong positive emotions might help keep you from craving negative ones, tho that's more of a guess since there's a difference between someone's singular life being thrown completely into disaray and a general group having their plans messed up for the afternoon.

"You're nature wants to feed. And since you're also part human, it will try and find new ways to feed. As far as my own, the very unique ways that systems can be disrupted all feel different. And feed in different amounts."

"...like how different emotions taste different."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"Exactly! The larger array of tastes you have, the easier it is to find things you will like. Also, the variety should keep your nature from taking too much hold when you feed."

"...I liked.... her pain. And fear."

[Acutis D'Vart]

"That...makes sense, considering your paintings, but it doesn't mean you'll always hurt someone to get it. Honestly, sitting in Grand Central Station helps a little bit and I'm not even doing anything."

"I don't.... have to hurt people?"

[Acutis D'Vart]

"No. Might scare them a little, but you don't have to hurt people to feed off them. You might just need to be a little careful about how you do it, but no one has to die for you to exist. Good deal better than Mermaids and the like."
