Toby

I roll my eyes. "We both know that's not how things work.... Still it's nice to pretend to be normal for a while with you."

Jamie D'vart

Jamie shrugs. "Have you done like, therapy and shit?"

Toby

I roll my eyes. "It's not that simple Jamie."

Jamie D'vart

"I don't know, maybe it is and you're just full of it because you like murdering people and dont' want to stop. Maybe now that you've got a reason you can change."

Toby

I roll my eyes and start the car. "So you liked the movie?"

Jamie D'vart

Not the way you did. "Yeah, I guess."

Toby

"Isabella is a bitch." I say absently "still we should do a weekly date night."

Jamie D'vart

"That... that sounds nice."

A few weeks pass with a few dates here and there. Finally the gallery runs Jamie's exhibition. It crowded and all sorts of local artists and conisours come to look and maybe buy a painting. Toby's cleaned up. His hair is brushed and braided and he's wearing clean jeans and his dress flannel. Still he sticks out in a room full of cocktail dresses and casual suits. In the sea of it all his a handsome man in a versocii suite with slick black hair and bright eyes approaching Jamie

Clad VanDan

I smile charmingly as I approach the young up and coming artist. "Good evening, I must say your art is quite exquisite." I drawl in my creol accent. "It is quite the accomplishment for one our age.... Then again I'm not surprised Aurthor has an eye for talent." I smile charmingly again "forgive my rudeness allow me to introduce myself. Claud VanDan of the new orlianes VanDans Artisic Society."

Jamie D'vart

Jamie looks shy in his slacks and button-down, unsure what to do with his hands, unsure how to talk to these adults who have come to praise him. He's wandered further and further from Toby as he's been pulled to talk to people, until he's standing beside a large piece, half-covered by the massive painting.

My smile fades with is lack of response " feeling a little overwhelmed?" I ask gently "why dont you step outside foe some air? Theres a balcony door over behind that satie on your left

Jamie D'vart

"Thank you," Jamie mumbles. It's not even the pressure of having his art on display -- it's the complex, heady mix of emotions in the crowd that have him addled. It's a little like being high.

Clad VanDan

I smile opening the door for him "allow me."  I follow him onto the balcony and pull out a pack of smokes "would you like one?" I ask gently
