The Prince and the Priestess

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

He shuffles a little, confused. "It's not as though I asked for a foreign bride. My father arranged the match for me, the same as yours. If your father did not prepare you..."

[Raja kumarie]

"You don't get it. Sons are an obligations daughters are an opertunity. I always new I could be sold off but no one wanted me, I belonged to the temple until your father insisted upon me. The first time my father ha come to see me in ten years was to tell me I was married to you. Two days later I was on my way here. You're people are so very different. I just don't know why you'd want me if not to get some cruel satisfaction from it."

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"I don't want you." Hearing how bald and cruel it sounds, he winces. "I don't not want you either," he adds, hurriedly. "I am a younger son. I knew I would marry for political reasons. I didn't understand that you did not know you would as well. I am sorry."

[Raja kumarie]

"I was never supposed to marry." I say softly "I was getting ready to take the oath of chastity to be a temple maiden all my life. I just don't want to disappoint you, I just want to be the best wife I can but I don't know how to be a Japanese wife I only know how to be a Hindi bride."

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"... if we have a daughter you could give her to the shrine to become a Miko?"

[Raja kumarie]

I laugh gently "come here let me fix your nose."  I say gently "I'm sorry Ryuu"

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"...you're sorry?" he asks, warily. "For... punching me?"

[Raja kumarie]

"And insulting your ways" I say softly

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

He nods. "I am sorry you are unhappy. It is... not fair to you."

[Raja kumarie]

I gently set and heal his nose. Before placing a light kiss on it. "We will have to learn together then how to be fair to one another."

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"...yes. Wel. About that. I assume... am I correct in... just, the dance you performed, am I correct that we're meant to....?" he gestures towards the futon on the floor, hesitantly. 

[Raja kumarie]

I giggle "yes it's a fertility ritual to bless our marriage." I flush slightly "would you like to?" I trail off

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

He hesitates. "Only if you want to," he finally finishes. 

[Raja kumarie]

I giggle again before kissing him on the lips. "I do, as I said I want to be the best wife I can be for you....would you like some help undressing?" I ask looking at him still in ceremonial garb

...so she burns hot and fast like a wildfire. Good to know. "Ah. Yes?"
