The Prince and the Priestess

[Raja kumarie]

"what?!" I say stepping back as though slapped. " I feed him, welcomed him, cared for him enough to explain my culture and he insults me?!"

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"You spoke to him as an equal. Challenged him, even. That's not done among wives."

[Raja kumarie]

" I did no such thing! I gave the same respect I'd give my own father. He was confused on the dishes so I reasuted him

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"He wasn't confused, he clearly said he wanted you to be more Japanese! And you told him no!"

[Raja kumarie]

"but I'm not Japanese?" I say confused "how can I be something I'm not?"

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"You are an Ishikawa now! You should act like it!"

[Raja kumarie]

" so you want me to be stilled and rude? That is how your father acts! What if I were to tell you to be Indian? Expect you to follow my customs with no instructions?! I told your family how to act in my home so they wouldn't offend I was gracious and gentle in explaining everything and now you tell me I am a horrible wife for not following customs no one bothered to teach me!" I swipe angrily at the tires in my eyes "you miss used me Ryuu" I say turning away from him and starting to clear away the dishes.

I carefully stack the plates and lift the stack in my arms heading twords the back of the house

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"Ancestors preserve me," grumbles Ryuu as she cleans. "Why have you forsaken me and given me a... a foreigner for a wife?!"

[Raja kumarie]

"funny how you didn't complain about me when I was in your bed" I snap "god's above why are you so difficult?!"

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

"You are in my home and you will show respect," he growls. 

[Raja kumarie]

"fine" I snap carrying the dishes away in a huff. he wants a proper wife I'll give him a proper wife. I'll only do as instructed by the example of the women I've observed here. If that's what he wants a glorified doll then that's what he'll get. I'll put no more effort into this since all it gets me is trouble if that's what he wants then it's his. No love no emotions just silent complacency

[Npc]

Raja leaves the room to clean up from dinner. She Is quite as she works clearing here emotions to the side. She finishes her work and goes to her rooms with Ryuu. She is quite and subdued as she enters the room kneeling before the bed hands palm up on her knees head down eyes on the floor just as she had seen many a temple slave she knelt there silent waiting for her husband

[Ryuu Ishikawa]

Ryuu enters, nodding as he sees her submission. Good. She has taken my words to heart. Now we can begin again. 

He moves to lift her chin with a finger, intending to kiss her.

[Raja kumarie]

The second he touches me I go ridged and stiff my face still pointed to the ground eyes locked on the floor. After a minute I allow him to pull my face up but shut my eyes so as not to anger him by looking at him.

Something is wrong. He pulls back, frowning. "Wife?" he asks, gently. "Are you well?"
