Movement of the Wilds

[Kira]

"Yes"

[Wylde]

Wylde nods. "The ancestors chose me to be a guardian of our people from the Cold Ones. It's a great honor, women are rarely ever chosen, but they chose me and I got... powers, from it. And part of the deal is, there's someone out there who when you see them will make you instantly fall in love. And it's you. I saw you and I had to save you from the bear. Please don't send me away -- I will do anything, be anything, for you."

[Kira]

I nod slowly turning this over in my head. Ok so she's undergone her people's version of Kabbalah and is now on charge of her gods magic. Well that's at least not crazy... my phone buzzes and I look down... it's him...he s finally sent me the list of the rules he wants me to follow once we're married... I click the google link, 36 pages great me...I chew my lip thoughtfully

"Do you have a car?" I ask suddenly mind made up im not marrying a stranger who's decades older than me and comes with 36 pages of rules I'll take my chances with the demon lady and run away

[Wylde]

"Uh. Technically yes," she says slowly. "Do you need one?"

[Kira]

"Here" I scribble down my address on a napkin and hand it to her. "Meet me here at 8 pm tonight. Try not to be seen so keep your lights off when you get close. There's a parking lot across the street from my building just wait for me  there ok?" I say standing to go. it's sabbath to night so if I go to the bank now I can close my account before they close which won't be weird I'm saposed to be getting marrried Monday and my money will go to him so closing it today isn't weird, and if wild is there by 8 everyone will be in for sabbath so if I'm careful I can slip out unnoticed.

[Wylde]

"Yes ma'am," she says, nodding as she takes the paper. I'll have to figure out where this is, but I'll have time. She wolfs down a little more food as Kira starts to pack up, then moves to help. 

[Kira]

I take the packed hamper and smile "8pm on the dot ok?" I say heading out as she nods

The bank doesn't take long. It's not much 4,000$ saved up. The account closed I head home money in hand and start packing my bag. Only the nessecites. Some clothes, a few scarfs, my grandmothers jewelry (which in a pinch could be sold), my mother's notebooks full of home remedies and recipes. My laptop and charger, phone charger, and my immigration paperwork and other important documents,

Finally I leave a note to my father under the flower vase telling him I'm gay and I can't marry a man and I'm sorry. I take one last look around my apartment before opening the window and placing my bag on the fire escape, the place looks ready for Shabbat. Everything set as it should be. I'm about to climb out the window when there's a nock at my door....

[Jadan Delasso]

"Darling!" cries the man she is promised to marry. She's never seen Jadan without full body coverage, usually a long coat over trousers and a work shirt, and gloves; he wears a hat when he leaves the house, offering him some shade from the sun, which he says he has a strange allergy to. 

(She looked it up online. It's a real thing. But it's weird.)

"Good news," he cries, going to kiss her on the cheek with his oddly cold skin. (Another medical condition). "The rabbi has to be called away for a family emergency, so he's offered to marry us before he leaves town. Get your best dress on and we'll have your mother take photos."

[Kira]

Shit, shit, shit! Ok ok. Breath the fire escape is outside my bedroom window, and I can still make it.... I shake my head to clear it and breath "oh no I hope everything is all right." I say concerned. He's not bad looking but something about him makes me afraid.... " can you wait in the hall while I change? I'm sorry I've never had a man in my apartment before and I don't want there to be any impropriety before the wedding just give me about thirty minutes and I'll be done.. there's a few thing I haven't done yet to comply with your wishes...husband" god I hope he buys it.

[Jadan Delasso]

"Of course, my darling," he says, pressing a kiss to her hand with a surprisingly firm grip. "Don't keep me waiting, dear." And don't try to go out the window -- I've stationed a friend at the bottom of the fire escape, just in case. 

[Kira]

I smile locking the door behind him before going into my room and locking the door. I check out the window and there's a man at the bottom. Fuck. I take a breath and think. Ok ok...... thirty minutes later I'm all dolled up in my wedding dress and vail and carrying my go bag. I take a breath steadying myself and open the door. "Husband May I make one request before we go? One of my coworkers from the shelter just texted. She was coming to pick this up!" I rais the bag slightly "it's old cloths to give to the women there and some toys. Can I hand this off to her in the parking lot before we go to temple? It's on the way."

[Jadan Delasso]

"You'll muss your dress," he purrs. "Let me." He holds out a hand to take the bag.

[Kira]

"I'm sorry love but it's not kosher for you.... It's things for that time of month you see... I'm sorry but for you to touch this would make you unclean before our wedding and I'm sure you wouldn't want to undergo the rituals before our wedding but you can come with me if you're worried for my safety."

[Jadan Delasso]

"Well then, allow me to escort you. For safety."

[Kira]

I nod and we walk side by side down the hall and stairs and into the street. I can see wild by her junker of a car and smile. Walking over to her "here's the things I promised you for the shelter I hope they help it makes me happy they're going to a good home."
