Stone's Throw

[Charon Tethras]

Charon blushes, looking away. "No, I mean, you and me."

[Diligence]

"Ohhhh." Dil cocks his head to the side, studying Charon for a moment. "Wait, how would that even work?" Before Charon can figure out how to respond to that, Dil continues, "even a merikos troll is huge compared to me. I mean, look." He waves a claw at Joy, who, even at eleven, is about four times his height and nearly ten times his weight.

"I mean, it's not like I'm a huge guy," he points out. "And catfolk are.... unusual... downstairs," he admits, almost painfully. "Anyway it's just an idea."

[Diligence]

Charon's been acting really weird about stuff this last year or so. Really wish I could figure out what's going on there. "Right, okay," he says after a small delay. "Maybe we could just go with that but with more truth? Like... Joy is my little sister, our parents are dead and you're my best friend who is helping out?"

[Charon Tethras]

"Yeah, okay. That works," he says, seeming a little distracted. 

[Diligence]

Looking uncertain, Dil glances at his sister in dim hope she might have an idea on what he missed.

[GamesMaster]

Joy smiles at him. "Great! Then let's get going."

[Diligence]

Oh. So... Did I not miss something? Goat testicles in a vise, today sucks. "Right," Dil says hesitantly. "So. Umm. We have some stuff to get from the school?"

[Charon Tethras]

Charon nods. "Joy can be the lookout. I'll pick the lock on the front door, then we'll split up. I'll get books, Dil you get supplies from the supply closet."

[Diligence]

"Seems reasonable for a plan," Dil agrees after a moment. "Umm." He glances at Joy, then asks, "what do you have for supplies by the way?"

[GamesMaster]

She grins. "I made sandwiches. And I have all my allowance saved up."

[Diligence]

"Sandwiches are good," Dil says with a chirp. "I don't suppose any of them are beetle?" He's long since given up on anyone except Felicity even acknowledging grubs, snails or slugs as food. But beetles he's standing firm on.

[GamesMaster]

She makes a face. "No, but I grabbed your stash for you."

[Diligence]

"Oh hey, thanks!" I have a stash? When did I do that? "Right, well, I'll see if I can find some clothes or something for you inside. And a rucksack."

[GamesMaster]

Joy makes a face. "I brought clothes, stupid. And I have my purse."
