[Charon Tethras]

"Sometimes I wish I was an elf. You know?"

[Diligence]

Dil pauses a moment, considering this. "...tall," he murmurs thoughtfully. 

[Charon Tethras]

"Nobody fucks with elves. They go where they want. Everyone's happy to hire them. Teach them. You know."

[Diligence]

"I guess," Dil says, shaking off his daydream of being able to reach things, of not being instantly classed as a child. "They're kinda funny looking though."

[Charon Tethras]

"Well, yeah. They're too skinny for their height. Not proportional. But still. I could cope without fur."

[Diligence]

"Nope." Dil shakes his head vigorously. "Too soft. And they barely even have teeth, Char. Like not even a tiny fake fang. Just none."

[Charon Tethras]

"Well yeah, they eat plants. Like cows."

[Diligence]

"Exactly."

[Charon Tethras]

"Maybe an orc, then? Big old tusks?"

[Diligence]

"No, orcs... Hmm. I suppose if I was the orc, I could shower a lot more often," Dil realizes, nodding slowly.

[Charon Tethras]

Charon shudders at the idea of frequent bathing. 

[Diligence]

"I wonder if my eyes would..." Dil trails off, vulnerability creeping in. "Umm. Anyway. What were we... oh! Right, yes, you; do you need like... first aid or something?"

[Charon Tethras]

"No, I'm okay," he grumbles. "But I'm pretty sure I didn't get the job. So. Back to searching, I guess."

[Diligence]

"Oh. Yeah. Guess so." Dil lifts his hands a little to draw attention to the bundle of leather. "Got this out of some refuse uptown. Figure if I can tease it apart and oil it a little, might be able to pawn most of it."

[Charon Tethras]

"What is it?" asks Charon, happy to forget his ordeal in favor of something more hopeful.
