Sami rolls his eyes. "You're a coward, is what you are.  But, fine. Build your bridge. Just don't attract too much attention or we'll get caught."

Andreas Amell

"Prudent," Dreas corrects his cousin. "I am prudent and practical, just as Granddad taught us. Besides, do you not have any interest in attempting such a project? To test our wits and ingenuity?" His tone quickens as excitement creeps in. "To draw forth from our creativity and skill to create something?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Sami blinks. "Not really, no."

Addy sighs. "Come on. Let him build his bridge. We'll go scout out the roof."

Andreas Amell

Andreas sags back against the workbench. "Alone, alone I stand amongst a rabble of dullards and mundanities," he bemoans in dwarven.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

It takes him the better part of an hour to put together the collapsable wooden bridge that he designs, but it's solid and functional when tested across the backs of two chairs, and that'll have to be good enough. When he arrives on the roof, he carefully avoids noticing Addy straightening her dress a little, Sami's smirk.

"Is that it?" Sami asks.

Andreas Amell

How blessed am I, to not be subjected to such messy compulsions, he thinks to himself, not looking forward to discovering if he'll have heats when he's fully grown. "Of course! 'tis a simple thing, unadorned and roughly hewn, but I had not time to give it proper care. Now, give a hand and help me set it against the crenation of the building."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"The what?" Asks Addy.

"you know, the crenation. That totally normal word everyone says all the time," mocks Sami.

Andreas Amell

Dreas pinches the bridge of his nose and sighs deeply. Then does it again because the first was so satisfying. "The crenation," he repeats, gesturing at the edge of the roof. "The tiny wall that goes around the edge of a roof is call a crenation."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Sami scowls. "Imitating Varric won't win you any favor, you know."

Andreas Amell

Far from being reprimanded, Andreas perks up. "Am I truly?" he asks with no small delight.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

Sami rolls his eyes. "I don't know why everyone is so enamored with him," he grumbles. "He's not as smart as Helene, anyway. Just more pretentious"

Andreas Amell

Jeal-ous~ "They have different kinds of smart," Andreas says with a shrug. "Grandne might have more raw intelligence and perhaps a wider base of knowledge, but Grandpa is more clever and understands people more."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

He doesn't understand me, Sami thinks, but doesn't bother saying. "That bridge work or what?" he says instead.

Andreas Amell

"Of course it will!" In theory. "As I said, help me move it to the-- to the edge of the roof."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Varric found the paper on the floor: dropped, or perhaps discarded. It must be something Helene was working on for the kids: a sort of game where you transform one type of spell matrix into another in as few moves as possible. Some of the solutions are downright elegant, though one or two make mistakes, taking a longer route when a shorter one would do. And some aren't finished yet, halfway through before a stain on the page halts the progress. It's in the schoolroom, though he knows his spouse sometimes works on odd puzzles while ne teaches lessons to the younger ones.
