"Ah, you've learned the most basic of basics," teases Ezra.

"Truly, none of them called to you at all?" asks Pip.

Andreas Amell

Dreas hesitates, then shrugs. "There are... moments. Well, hours of time really. Sometimes even entire works. But each time, the passion dances away from my grasp like golden sunlight and silver dreams."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Aah. You need inspiration," says Pip with a sagely nod. "The muse is a fickle mistress sometimes. But mine has never been more active than when I've been in residence here."

Andreas Amell

"Yes! That's what I've always thought as well!" Andreas exclaims with delight, thrilled that someone else gets it so easily, so swiftly. My family is always-- well, mostly always-- supportive and sympathetic, but none of them understand it. Not really.

"You know," says Cameron, "There's the back wall mural we've yet to paint. What about doing a collaborative piece?"

Andreas Amell

Eyes widening, Andreas gapes at Cameron for a moment. "Truly? You would allow me to help decorate your very home?"

GamesMaster

"Of course. If it doesn't turn out right, we can always do it over -- but it'll be interesting to see if you and I can make something beautiful," he says.

Andreas Amell

A smile tugs at his lips, and, after a few seconds, Andreas realizes he doesn't have any reason to put on a serious mien right now. "I would be honored then," he says with a broad smile.

"Excellent! So the mural overlooks the garden, so I was thinking--"

"Food first," instructs Scott. "Don't overwhelm the boy."

Andreas Amell

"Yes?" Dreas prompts Cameron, eyes bright and eager. As far as can be told, he didn't even register Scott's protest.

Cameron outlines the mood he wants to capture: a full stomach, a successful harvest, beauty and green growing things. He uses a lot more words to spell this out, however.

Andreas Amell

"A bountiful vista, a showing of not life directly but instead the fruits of life and yet also its building blocks, its foundation. A plentitude, surplus even. Safety. The basis for generosity and compassion in a way, as to give to many, much must be had. A field-- no, a patchwork of field and garden. No livestock-- well, perhaps a chicken or two, mayhap a sheep? Hmm. Wheat and corn, I think for the focal; they're iconic and both visibly distinct and appealing.  Perhaps two fields, one of each, encircling a garden? A framing of fruit trees, the fields in the background along with a clear blue sky. A small shed, clearly for holding the harvest, near a well. A hammock between the fruit trees, with an ambiguous figure resting after the morning's hard work. A wagon, filled with crates of goods, ready to be taken to town. No, not a wagon and not town. A small cart, less carefully loaded, intended to for the farm kitchen for all to share the use of. Need more than just the one... a pair, seen mostly by their shadows, embracing on the other side of the painting. And a figure with their back to us, broad straw hat, with only a hint of their hands showing as they idly whittle a wooden toy."

"Good, good," encourages Cameron, "But go a little more abstract. I'm thinking splashes of green and gold, approximating fields seen from far above when using a Fly spell, but not quite literally. Dots of white on a green landscape."

Andreas Amell

"Less realism? Hmm. Hmmm." Dreas leans back on his chair, eyes gazing into wonder. Or the ceiling. One of the two. "Keep the garden as the focus and the trees as framing, but blur the trees. Subtly. Shift the two fields into the sky-view you described. Perhaps have a city, just a blaze of light and hints of shapes, in the far distance. Keep the indistinct farmers? Hmm. Maybe. Not sure. Shrink the garden focus, third to a quarter of the canvas at most. Keep the two fruit trees full sized. Maybe adhere wooden engravings, an actual frame of sorts, for depth. Perhaps have the garden's bounty be... not actual fruit and vegetables? Or have them be an assortment of such but juxtaposed in placement, a chaotic display of the blessings mortals can earn from nature?"

"I like the carving idea," he replies, deep in thought. "And perhaps some artfully carved stones, to make a place to sit in the shade beside the mural?"
