Andreas Amell

"Oh no, not at all," Andreas protests with a wave of his hand. "There are magicks out there that could confirm a blood link between us easily enough. If... if you were willing, that is. To find out."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Charon Tethras

"...what good would it do me?" he asks, hesitantly. "You said you're the family of a Light -- were you adopted?"

Andreas Amell

"What? No. Well, my mother was-- it's my grandpa that's the Light," Andreas explains almost absently, his mind mulling over where he could get ahold of a scroll of Lineage without said relation finding out before he can even finish reading it.

Charon Tethras

"So your mother is your birth mother? For sure?" presses Charon, trying not to let show the yearning that's opened up inside him.

Andreas Amell

"Yeah..?" Andreas hesitates, then adds, "but she's human. It's my, umm, it's her ex that's catfolk. I, uh, I don't... really know him well. He, uh, he left when I was basically an infant because--" Andreas cuts off abruptly, breath seizing in his lung as a terrifying, wonderful, impossible thought hits him.

Charon Tethras

"Did he take a baby with him? And then dump that baby in Sweetwater with no parents?"

Andreas Amell

"What? I-- no, I don't-- Sweetwater? How did--" Andrea shakes his head rapidly. "We need to get a Lineage scroll." He briefly thinks of the time, of how he'll be late, but casts it off even quicker. "Right now."

Charon Tethras

"I guess you're buying so it's up to you," sighs Charon, regretfully thinking of his bath. "This way, I know a shop that's open late."

Andreas Amell

"You know a scroll shop that sells Lineage?" Andreas asks with some surprise. That's usually only used by Alydrea, Bastion and Ciren temples.

Charon Tethras

"I mean, I don't do that spell, so no, but I know an assorted magical goods shop that has all sorts of things, and they might have one."

Andreas Amell

"I very much doubt it, it's a very niche item," Andreas says with a shake of his head. "No, we'll need a temple of... Bastion," he decides. Too great a chance of Grandpa or Grandne finding out immediately if we seek Alydrea's help and Auntie Seli if we go to Ciren. "Ah, they also have bathhouses I could... treat you." Please.

Charon Tethras

But Charon balks. "That's a huge waste. I know a shortcut to the Temple of Living Waters, we can stop off at a catfolk bathhouse on the way. A third the price, just as good."

Andreas Amell

"Bastion's temple will also wash your clothes and the waters have a mild healing effect," Andreas counters. "Won't fix a knife would or the like, but strained muscles, sore feet, blisters?" He snaps his fingers. "Come on, it's my treat, remember?"

Charon Tethras

Must be nice. "Tell you what, i'll do the catfolk bathhouse but I'll take the difference in gold," he snarks, as he starts moving.

Andreas Amell

"...that's not how gifts work," Andreas says flatly.
