[Charon Tethras]

"I suppose it's different when you're not the only one," he sighs. 

[NPCs]

"I suspect so," Cadmus agrees, carefully taking another sip of his drink. "At least you had tribe of your own, yes? Clan."

[Charon Tethras]

"...yeah. I suppose I did." Or at least, Andreas did. "But that almost makes it worse," he theorizes. "zi'Goldclaw and zi'Tethras work together but Adonis never visits."

[NPCs]

Cadmus hums softly, eyes closing briefly as he mulls that over. "Knowing who, knowing he knows... I can see why worse, yes-yes."

[Charon Tethras]

"...I've been meaning to talk to Uncle Carver about it. He didn't have a dad for a long time either, until zi'Tethra-- granddad took him in."

[NPCs]

Granddad? Strange... "Good choice," Cadmus replies, head nodding a little. He pauses, then makes a tsking sound. "Shame to me; sit, child, sit."

[Charon Tethras]

"Sorry," he says automatically, moving to sit by the bed. "How are you feeling?"

[NPCs]

"Today is... good," Cadmus replies, eyes closing again. "Legs are weak but lungs are strong. Heh. For my age."

[Charon Tethras]

"It sucks we didn't get to know each other sooner," admits Charon softly. "You're pretty cool. For an old guy."

[NPCs]

Cadmus is silent for a beat, then begins to laugh. A deep, warm belly laugh, though it comes with a bit of coughing as it goes on.

[Charon Tethras]

Charon blushes. "What, I mean it!"

[NPCs]

"I know," Cadmus says after one more laugh. "And thus joy."

[Charon Tethras]

"I take it back, you're weird," he says, but he's clearly joking by the smile on his face. 

[NPCs]

"Can one not be cool and weird?" Cadmus asks curiously after a long sip of his tisane. 

[Charon Tethras]

"Nope. Polar opposites. Cool is pulling off being unusual in a good way, Weird is not pulling it off or seeming like you know what you're doing."
