Stone's Throw

[Aveline Vallen]

"Friends downtown?" Aveline echoed, looking curious-- and also excited, though she's trying to downplay it.

[Charon Tethras]

"Some new friends I've made recently. Nothing special."

[Aveline Vallen]

"You're my nephew, everything about you is special. How did you met them?"

[Charon Tethras]

"Oh, through  my art. "

[Aveline Vallen]

Of course you did. "Ah, fellow artists? Or fans?" Please not fans, not again.

[Charon Tethras]

Didn't Dreas say he was going to be staying with some artists? "Yeah, other artists. They're helping with the whole... you know... thing," he says, waving a paw vaguely. 

[Aveline Vallen]

"You'll find your passion one day," Aveline said gently, reaching over to give his hand a squeeze. "Keep trying, keep exploring."

[Charon Tethras]

Who cares? it's just art. Charon nods, trying to play it off as being touched, overcome with emotion. 

[Aveline Vallen]

Unfortunately for Charon, Auntie Aveline is probably the worst member of his family to have tried to pull that kind of deception off with. Fortunately for Charon, being her nephew mean that her mind went to innocent deductions. "You're like for me to stop momming you and get to your training," Aveline asked with an understanding grin.

[Charon Tethras]

He winces with a rueful smile. "Sorry. Yeah, that'd be great."

[Aveline Vallen]

With a shake of her head, Aveline rose to her feet. "Nothing to apologize over, Dreas. Probably best you don't eat too much first anyway. Finish your tea though, then met me outback."

[GamesMaster]

They begin by running laps -- and it's strange, she thought Dreas had more stamina than that, but he's clearly flagging after a few laps. He keeps going, though, determined; before long, however, he drops to his knees and throws up the tea, helplessly. 

[Aveline Vallen]

"Dreas!" Aveline hurried over to his side, hand glowing slightly. "Why didn't you stop a half lap ago?" she demanded, though he's likely distracted by the soothing feeling that covers his body, leaving behind a ghost of an impression of dauntless armour.

[Charon Tethras]

"Didn't know-- I was gonna-- hurl," he pants. 

[Aveline Vallen]

"Mmh. Well, try and remember that feeling for next time, alright kiddo?" Aveline rubbed his back gently, slow, smooth circles. "How are you feeling now?"
