Go Down

Andreas Amell

That gave Andreas a pause. Is it? Do I object? I mean, I've taken it myself, and so does Sammy. And Aunt Marian for sure, maybe Aunt Shannon and Uncle Cedric. But... "Selling it like this feels... off? Or something? But I can't actually say why I'm getting that feeling," he finally voiced.

Cameron shrugged. "It's just giving people what they want, same as any good. And anyway you're part of it now."

Andreas Amell

Why did that sound... ominous? Eh, he didn't mean anything like that. "Sure. I mean, not everything people want is something you should support, but... this seems harmless enough. No worse than alcohol for sure."

GamesMaster

"Absolutely. It's just illegal because of classism -- the cats are big dealers of this stuff, and it's popular among the poor."

Andreas Amell

Dreas knows a fair bit about the inequities caused by racial tensions, wealth gaps and educational favoritism, thanks to growing up in the family he did. But it's all second hand-- third hand even-- and so it's something he knows but does not understand. He gets the concepts, the existence of it, the unfairness and outright evil of it, but none of the hardship, the suffering, the resentment. So when Cameron gave him an answer that fit in the themes, he could only accept it as fact. "Good point," he agreed with a firm nod. "So! How can I help, specifically? Do you want me to wrap after you sort and measure maybe?"

GamesMaster

"That'd be great. That and having someone to talk to."

Andreas Amell

"Mmh, yeah, I guess this would be rather boring," Andreas laughed as he took a seat. He reached for the dry but still flexible leaves-- aren't these corn husks?-- to bundle the herbs. "Just one layer of the, uh, corn husks, and then into the burlap pouches?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Yeah, it's just to stop the flower -- that's what you call the raw product -- from sticking to the burlap. It won't get tangled up in the corn husks the same way."

Andreas Amell

Oh good, they are corn husks. "Makes sense-- this is almost the same way elven and kendish travel rations are stored actually." Once again, the unusual normalcies of his upbringing completely blinded him to the fact that many people don't ever see proper travel rations, especially not minors. If Cameron didn't know or suspect that Andreas has close ties to adventurers, he would now. "Kenders coat them in dino fat and salt, then smoke them first though. Which, uh, would probably not do anything good for the flower though."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Huh. The flower needs heat to activate, but I wonder if you smoked it if you could breathe the smoke? Or at that point, just eat it, like you do those caramels?"

Andreas Amell

"Hmm." He wracked his brain for a moment, an attempt to dredge up any wisps of alchemical or herbal lore he's passively absorbed over the years. "Well, how hot does it need to be heated to work?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Toasted. Boiling doesn't quite do it."

"That could be a heat thing or a dampness thing," Andreas mused, ears flattening as if in sympathy for being wet. "Smoking is a very dry process. Of course, the fact that the flower will be swiftly becoming thin, dry, bits of plant hovering above fire comes with its own problems."
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"Well when you smoke it, it burns anyway."

Andreas Amell

"Yes, but that would..." Andreas paused, head tilted to the side. "...sauna..."
