Helene Dakesh

"That's.... quite the compliment," ne manages, ducking ner head.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

"You're quite the person."

Helene Dakesh

"I-- oh-- oh my," ne blushes.
"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

Varric

Looking down right pleased with himself, Varric waved his hand around. "So we've established my first task, dress code, what are new hires should be like, and how incredible you are; what's next?"

Helene Dakesh

"Well, here's what I was thinking for a rough schedule." Ne, having only had this job for an hour, has of course already thought through three separate ideas for the broad strokes order of events.

It's going to be a long night, the first of many. But hopefully, it will be worth it.

"Explain. In detail, please and thank you."

"You're going to do what?" Addy's voice is dripping with sarcasm and confusion.

"Play basketball," confirms Charon.

"You're a little nerdy artist, you can't be any good at it," replies Addy.

"Oh lay off him, he's just a kid," says Sami with all the wisdom a year can bring. Or rather, four months, given his birthday's only just passed and Charon's is coming up.

They're hanging out in the old bandanna hideout, now repurposed to be a clubhouse for them all to go hang out in. Which often means Sami smokeing devilweed and making out with Addy, or Siggy getting way too involved in some fortune-telling scam he's planning to pull on the populace, or Gilly trying to round them all up into a band or something like that.

"There's nothing wrong with trying something new," Tomas said quietly, his eyes fixed on the tiny sphere of ivory in his hand. Bit by bit, he etched out small small groves that he'll later dye blue with a special dye that won't bond with the unbroken surfaces. "You don't have to be excellent at something to have fun or to learn something from it."

Charon Tethras

"Yeah but if you're no good at it, why do it?" wonders Charon, trying to sound like his brother.

Tethras Clan

"Fun?" Tomas repeated deadpan.

Charon Tethras

"I can have fun with my art."

Tethras Clan

"I can eat both bread and rice."

Tomas sighed a little. Kids. "I can eat both bread and rice. I can enjoy both meals, gain sustenance from both. Fulfillment from both. You can make art and, possibly, enjoy basketball as well."

Charon Tethras

"Unless I damage my hands."

Tomas snorted, then paused. "Wait, are you serious? Andreas, Pops isn't about to have you play against outsiders or necromancers and no way Mom or Mum won't be there. Devoted desires, 'dreas, I could heal just about any injury that might happen at a simple ball game."
