[Carver Amell]

"You're lying," says Carver, his tone dark. 

[Aveline Vallen]

"That is hard to believe," Aveline agreed in a more diplomatic fashion. "What were the circumstances?" As much as she hated to even tentatively entertain the idea, she's been a guard far too long to ignore unpleasant possibilities. 'But he's such a good boy' is a protest she's heard far too many times in sexual assault cases.

[Adonis Naodi]

"He claims he was out of his head with heat, and that he does not recall most of the time period in question. Keeper Naodi agreed that such things can and do happen with  merikosi."

[Aveline Vallen]

Aveline frowned, though her head nodded a little. "I've encountered that in ratfolk before. It was explained to me that it can happen if the person is ill or intoxicated. I didn't realize it was possible for catfolk." Andreas... What in the Hells happened?

[Carver Amell]

"Is he sick?" demands Carver. 

[Adonis Naodi]

"I do not know. I did not detect signs of such in him."

[Aveline Vallen]

"How bad off is the victim?" She hated to use that word, hated that it meant someone had been hurt and that her nephew had maybe been the one to do it. But she's sworn oaths, to the city, to her god and to herself, and she won't betray that.

[Adonis Naodi]

"She did not appear physically harmed, though I'm certain the Keeper will give her a thorough exam to ensure this."

[Carver Amell]

Carver fumes, almost beside himself (and thus silent). You come into my life with no apologies, not a kind word for your (my) son, and now you implicate him in some-- some [heist]! It's probably telling to any mind-readers how Carver, whose thoughts are always in his first language of Common, switches to Catfolk for specialized terms of art. In this case, it's a con job sort of heist, not a burglary or a snatch-and-grab. 

[Aveline Vallen]

"What investigating has been done so far then?" Aveline asked with narrowed eyes. He's only sure she's been tended to? "When did this happen?"

[Adonis Naodi]

"He only left his heat-room this morning. Nothing could be done before he re-appeared."

[Carver Amell]

"Reappeared?" growls Carver. "You mean you lost him?!"

[Adonis Naodi]

Surely Adonis is about to argue. Surely he's not... nope, there goes his tail again, and his eyes don't look at Carver. "He is returned, now."

[Aveline Vallen]

"So he was 'lost' for a time, and had a reaction to his very first heat that indicates he was either serious ill or under the influence of a powerful toxin or drug," Aveline summed up, voice chilling.

[Carver Amell]

"What the absolute fuck," snarls Carver. "I should never have let him stay at your place."
