Carver Amell

"I thought we were both going?" Seeing Andreas's face, he quickly adds, "If you want. I can hang back if you'd rather."

Andreas Amell

Andreas gnawed at his lip for a moment, peeking through his lashes at Carver. "...can you promise not to fight?"
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

Carver Amell

"...fine. I'll be quiet unless I think I can help."

Andreas Amell

Andreas reached out to grip Carver's hand. "Thank you," he whispered with heartfelt sincerity and relief. He had really wanted his father figure there but had needed to have this conversation. With a deep breath, he rose to his feet without removing his hand.

When they arrive at the guest room, Miki is sitting in a rocking chair reading a book, though he sets it down as they arrive. "Ah, welcome, Andreas. Carver. Have a seat, I'm happy to answer any questions."

Garret Tethras

Striding in behind the pair, Garrett came to a stop and bowed forty-five degrees towards Miki. "Greetings, Keeper of Nyra Tribe. I am Garrett Tethras, bonded of Marian Tethras. I am currently assisting young Andreas in the role of an unofficial legal advisor."

All of this was said in fluent, albeit clinically crisp, Catfolk. Including the subtle rasps and trills that were entirely unnoticed by non-Catfolk. Miki would have taken it as the effect of a translation spell-- they nearly always have that 'too perfect' pronunciation except that Garrett's lips and tongue moved in perfect sync to the verbalization.

Miki studies Garrett closely for a long moment. "Ah, the eidolon," he says finally, using Catfolk for all but the technical term. "Be welcome."

Andreas Amell

"R-Right. So, um..." Andreas felt his eyes widen as he realizes he had forgotten to, "Welcome Keeper Miki. I have, uh, come seeking instruction?" He took a seat as directed, sitting near the front of the chair as if ready to flee. "My Uncle has told me how it would probably go if Nyran courts handled... me? but I wanted-- you didn't-- I wanted to hear more than just a quick summary of how you would..?"

"The traditional sentence for heat-rape is castration, but I think we can avoid that in this circumstance. You didn't know better, and you didn't know you were going into heat, and those are two very huge mitigating factors. I would say, probably community service and lessons at the Temple. The purpose is to prevent you from re-offending, after all, and I think you would be less likely to re-offend if I integrated you more fully into the community that should have been your birthright."

Garret Tethras

"What other repercussions and knock-on effects could he expect from placing himself under your judgment?" Garrett asked before Andreas could do more than open his mouth.

GamesMaster

"Well, I suppose some would say he's Tribe now, if he's tithing like he said he might and he's obeying the rules. So that's a thing. But he wouldn't have to move to Cattown or anything. Honestly he might be a bit of a celebrity."

Garret Tethras

"Tithing?"

"Oh, umm, not from-- Just from my art. Like, I was planning on giving them the stuff that was just good instead of fire. To sell for me at the Bazar, and let them keep most of the money."

"Ah, I see. Hmm. Unfortunately, Papa-electi has instructed me to avoid business law, so I will not be able to assist in creating a contract for such. But I do recommend one; family, friend or Tribe, always have a contract when money is involved." Not that the very, very, very lawful outsider had any biases in matters of this nature.

GamesMaster

"We do oral contracts within the Tribe mostly. A lot of cats can't read common, only catfolk, though we try and teach both to the kits at the temple."

Andreas Amell

"What kind of community service?" Andreas asked warily even as Garrett muttered something about air being fickle.
Oh cruel gods, why have you hidden my muse so?

GamesMaster

"I'd put you to work at the temple. Cleaning, helping the little ones with their letters, maybe even get you to do a mural."
