The Black Dirge [Sci-fi]

Zee lets this go on for a minute or so more before speaking once more.

"Good, you are a fast learner. I've got to cut our session short here today, but i want you to practice this whenever you get a chance. We'll do a bit of this at the beginning of our sessions as well, so i'll be able to see how you improve. This was a good start."

Zee is genuine in her compliment, Kimiko did well for her first time meditating.

Interestingly, the girl is unresponsive, extremely focused on her mind not being there. Seems like she is really good at removing her thoughts from reality.

That was odd.... Zee reaches out to place her hand on Kimiko's shoulder, maybe the physical touch would shock her out of it, if not then the touch would let her gauge the girl's heart rate and determine if this is a medical emergency or not.

"Hello? Zee to Kimiko, come in Kimiko."

In her mind, Kimiko sees Zee's form start to appear. She's saying something... oh, it must be time to come back. After a moment, she breaks out of the trance, sweating a bit, slightly winded. "D... did I do well...?"

Maybe a bit too well." Zee says, sitting back a worried look flitting across her face and quickly hiding behind the usual stoic mask. Zee snaps her fingers and the lights slowly grow brighter till the room os lit normally once more. "Describe what you experienced while meditating please."

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

"Well... um..." the girl blinked a few times, staring at her teacher, "Ummm... it was like... everything here was... locked behind a door, and I was just sorta there, until... you put your hand on my shoulder, then it... was like you just kind of appeared in my head, and I remembered... that I was me?" She looks a bit puzzled. She tried her best in describing it though, that's something!

[accalia]

"Hmm. that's interesting. Next time try doing that again, but without loosing your awareness of the world around you. i didn't expect you to be so.... fast a learner or i would have mentioned that before." Zee says slowly, parsing the description. Then Zee stands. "That's enough of a warm up i think. We'll try that again tomorrow, for now are you ready to get to work?"

Kimiko nods, and looks very much like a toddler in the way she stands from sitting on the floor. "Y-Yes!" she then pauses, her hand halfway up before she asks, "Um... am I supposed to salute? I-It just kinda seemed... appropriate... since you're teaching me like this..."

Zee smiles "Kid, i ain't got time for no titles nor formalities. Hell, these days my name's just a single letter. Just be yourself and leave the formalities for when we've gotta wear our dress blues."

Zee then opens the door to the storage room and steps out into the gym.

"Let's get to work, shall we?

[Hitoshirenu Shourai]

She nods and half-smiles, nervous but determined, and follows her out, "Kay!" She very much looks like she wants to say something, maybe she still wants to do that explanation, but that could wait. She needs a LOT of training.

And a lot of training she'll get.

"Let's get down to businesshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSS5dEeMX64" rel="nofollow">!" Zee remarks cheerfully, before leading Kimiko through a series of simple core workouts. Zee's focusing on core body strength and form for now, using mere positioning to do the work that she would have weights do once Kimiko's ready for them. The poor girl is unable to hold a plank for any length of time, but the Tai Chi and some of the Yoga poses go pretty well.

At the end of the workout Zee's barely broken a sweat while Kimiko looks a little bit like a drowned rat.

"Wasn't that fun?" Zee asks as they break, heading for the showers to wash up.

The poor girl can barely even think to respond, already exhausted and dreading the next session. "F...fun..." she somehow manages to squeak out through the panting, "sure..." That said, though, she can't recall a time when she was -ever- that active, and it felt... different. Not necessarily good, but it was a nice change of pace, not passing out from sickness and weakness.

The nets above suddanly dip dangerously low, near the pair as they walk toward the entrance. What the fuck!? There's someone up there?! Or well, in the net now.

"WAH!" Kimiko is clearly surprised, and all the energy supporting her legs drains out, her falling over onto her bony butt, "Oww..." She rubs her butt, which will certainly be bruised from the fall.

"You alright up there Shinigami?" Zee calls calmly, leaning down to give Kimiko a hand up.
